Mayor LaToya Cantrell is planning to announce that people will need to show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a recent negative coronavirus test before entering New Orleans restaurants, bars and other venues, including the Caesars Superdome, according to multiple sources familiar with the city's plans.

The announcement, sources said, is expected as soon as Thursday afternoon. It would make New Orleans one of the first cities in the U.S. to mandate vaccinations.

It's not clear what types of proof of vaccination or test results would be required, or how the city plans to enforce the new rules. Masks are still expected to be required indoors, according to the sources.

It sounds like they don't want tourism. Who the hell would want to take a shot for a cold virus with a 99.9%s survival rate or take nasal test just for the privilege of eating at some restaurant. The whole thing is ludicrous and only security theater. This does nothing to stop the spread of anything and only inconveniences potential customers and keeps them from wanting to eat at your establishment or shop there.

You can still catch it and spread it vaccinated or not so what good is being vaccinated or tested for it. Testing only shows that one moment in time where you are allegedly negative not if you are still negative an hour from now or even ten minutes from now. The PCR tests are bogus and being yanked from the market by the end of the year yet people are still acting like these tests tell the gospel truth of whether you are sick or not. Our elected officials are murdering logic here.
