Sysco Cuts Off Lake of the Ozarks? | |
The Starbuckian User ID: 69853547 United States 08/13/2021 04:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Kansas City area Sisco is having trouble getting deliveries out because of labor shortages. Probably the same issues there. Quoting: CCornish Sounds like a good excuse for autonomous trucking to fill in the gap, or driver-less trucks making the deliveries, and self-unloading trucks filling in for all those "labor shortages.". “Queen Sarah, save us from the Black Dog King!” - from the play, Dissocia [link to tasaonline.org.au (secure)] "Never be anyone's French poodle." - Mr Hamilton |
last one I just don't give a fuck User ID: 60052792 United States 08/13/2021 06:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This scenario was happening in South Dakota a month ago(at least). We went into 2 well established businesses, a bar/grill and a restaurant in Custer, SD, looking to eat lunch. Neither of them had ANY food to serve. NONE. Same situation in Sidney, Nebraska where we stopped for the night on our way home. Ended up eating truck stop fast food for dinner due to closures, and a line literally 40 yards long trying to get in to an Applebees. Fast forward one week. We were at Lake of the Ozarks for a family birthday gathering. Restaurants were selling chicken wings at "market price", just like high dollar sea food. This is not just starting.....people are just now starting to talk about it. Wakey Wakey. If I'd known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself.---Grandpa Rednecks, hillbillies, and cowboys will save the nation---me I dreamed I was drinkin', woke up and I was "we put our faith in maniacs"- Lemmy Kilmister |
M.Gustave.H (OP) User ID: 77609345 United States 08/13/2021 09:23 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | First, let me say that I have no link and this is something i just heard and have not yet verified. If anyone has any information about this please chime in and let us know what if anything is happening. Quoting: M.Gustave.H All that being said, I work in beverage distribution in Missouri. I have a lot of accounts and many around the Lake of the Ozarks. While I was at an account this evening I was told that on Friday last week, Sysco terminated all of their accounts around the Lake. We have a Margarita-ville here and apparently they had to close because they didn't get their food delivery. If Sysco did in fact decide to stop servicing their accounts around the lake, it is a multi million dollar decision. Begs the question why. Did they mandate the shot and a bunch of people quit? Do all the people at the local distribution center have covid? Did management decide that the lake area is too dangerous due to the lack of vaccine-takers? Anyone with info would be appreciated. So Sysco is very tied in with the US government and lake of the Ozarks all but rolls up the sidewalks after labor day anyway. But say you wanted to do a hard lockdown and make sure "leakers" from cities etc couldn't really make a go of hiding out at their second homes or rental properties. One great way to do that is to basically make sure that there's no goods or services anywhere near a bunch of your leakers fallback location. Please do keep us apprised. I lived in the area for a year and this would all but cripple the area as a hideaway location and potentially force even the locals to head into the surrounding cities. It used to be like that for sure but it is not seasonal anymore. So many people moved to the area last year. Homes are hard to find and grocery stores never slowed down. I've had accounts doing record days in April, which like you said, was never a thing. The Lake is the new place to be while all this bull spit is going on. Or in the sticks like me. |

I do vet it. Could be SYSCO is insolvent? Could be something worse? O contacted my old rep in Colorado. He says they are short multiple products? Says he wants to quit or retire early. To much BS? He doesn't really have explanation. He says trucks deliver but no product for customers! WTF!!! |

You cannot find contact cleaner (parts house stuff used mostly for automotive electrical use) Quoting: Deplorableduckhunter None of the local parts stores have it in stock around here. Weird.
