The Taliban is composed of Afghans. The Afghans have been around for over 1300 years and have fought against invasion the entire time.

I personally choose ethics over morals. Morals I generally consider to be opinions based upon a code derived from a specific chosen religion.

As far as philosophy. I think a society based on USA bill of rights is a good start. All people having equal authority in the justice system.

That's the whole problem of trying to "help" people. If the host is not prepared and receptive to the culture then you can not force it upon them. They have to acquire it naturally.

That is want liberals don't have the wisdom to understand, the good liberals. Most liberals are actually tyrants and don't truly want to help anyone. that's not exactly true ... what CIA created was the Mujaheddin jihadists who were created to fight against the Soviet Union allied secular government, in the late 70s.

The mujaheddin included one mr bin Laden and his pals, they were funded and armed by CIA and the Saudi and Pakistani intelligence. And there were other CIA supported warlords too. But Taliban didn't exist by then.

the idea was to destabilize Afhanistan in order to get Soviet Union to help the government it had a defense pact with, so that Soviet Union would get its own Vietnam.

But after the Soviets left the Afghani government still stood like three years, at least they didn't get their "Saigon moment".

But now the USA got its Saigon 2.0 moment. Not to talk about that the terrorism sponsoring created al Qaida and, this might be controversial, led to 911 as a backlash.
