Eight years ago, a viral plague swept through humanity, decimating all the world’s men. Women have inherited the earth, but unless they can find a way to rid their own bodies of the virus to produce boy babies, scientists predict that the human race will be extinct within two lifetimes. In these interesting times, we begin our story in rural, idyllic Hiro Valley in New Zealand. Life here is as peaceful as it can be eight years after a mass-extinction, until one night, when dairy farmers Alex, Jamie and Pip accidentally crash into a wild woman running across the road.
