Marine Boy, Johnny Cypher In Dimension Zero, The Mighty Hercules, Aquaman, Kimba The White Lion, Jonny Quest,Astro Boy
As kids, watching these "cartoons" I never suspected that Marine Boys voice was that of a woman (or so it sounds like now, 50+ years later)
And it appears that his dolphin companion is the same as "Bandit" the dog on "Johnny Quest." They're both like the same character!
The shows I mention are just some examples of the wonderful world of cartoons in the 1960's; there are MANY more examples

Kimba the white lion never hunted down nor bloodily ripped apart other animals for food; ...he was a lion who believed in "doing right." (boy were we ever "PROGRAMMED!")

thanks for the memories though they make me sad...

i remember watching marine boy and kimba the white lion as a child in our living room at 210 william avenue in larkspur ca.

i greatly miss the the sense of safety and security i felt as a child or maybe just the absence of paralyzing anxiety and crushing debts.

sitting on the floor in front of the tv with a bowl of quisp and milk and watching cartoons... i am old now and have had many experiences but it doesn't seem to have got any better than that.

i also like speed racer.

Ok last post - on the American cartoon side (as opposed to the mostly Japanese imports you mentioned) as a kid I liked something called super chicken, secret squirrel and Morocco mole, go go gophers, Tennessee tuxedo, mr Peabody and his boy Sherman, tutor the turtle (help me mr wizard!), the wacky racers. I didn’t like Dudley do-right. Later I liked rocky and bullwinkle and the flintstones,

That was the life.

And in our mind's eye and our soul's eye, there we are again, with that bowl of Quisp, and those good feelings of comfort, and of home, in our memories of forever.

Comfort and home is something we fight for today to defend ourselves from the evil all around us. (d.s.)

There was a "Renaissance" song in the late 70's that had a verse which says, "LEAVE MEMORIES ON THE WIND AND, SPEND MOMENTS IN ENDLESS FLIGHT."

I left you some green.

And here's that song

Bullwinkle & Peabody & Sherman, et al..

Was going to get to them yesterday but this post wasn't doing so well and kind of gave up.

Thanks for the list. Please post some of your own.

Take care

It looked like Speed Racer WITHOUT Speed Racer in it. The same lokking people, the same looking villains. Was it produced by (was it) "Seven Arts?" I think that's who produced Speed Racer.

I only ever watched Tobor briefly on the Cartoon network when they started out in the mid-1990's.

The first episode, but the volume's REALLY friggin low on this one.. With Japanese opening sequences and everything!

Re: Marine Boy, Johnny Cypher In Dimension Zero, The Mighty Hercules, Aquaman, Kimba The White Lion, Jonny Quest,Astro Boy
THANK YOU OP for the GREAT memories...after school, whether at home (Belmont Ca.) at our aunt's (Burlingame Ca.) or grandparents(San Mateo Ca.) My brother and I watched these cartoons and more daily before it was "Homework" time. Usually with a bowl of "neopolitan" ice cream and a big glass of "bubble-up"....That kind of warmth, safety and security are times we will never know again for sure...Truly a tragedy for ALL the children of these times. Thanx again op.

On a MUCH BRIGHTER note: If one would like to revisit these and EVERY other cartoon ever made...I would suggest downloading a video player called K*di go to youtube install a build of your choice(i recommend Diggs Xenon) then install the
Go Go Anime addon, and the 'watch nixtoons2" addon

Watch all your childhood favorites and find some new adult-ish fav's ..I'll bet you stop watching network tv altogether in about a week....

Happy viewing

Wolfcat

(anyone with questions on the player or the process just hit me up)
