My first experience of death was a serial killer
My Dad moved us from a farm in Wi to So California in 1972. We lived in a decent neighborhood near Disneyland.I made friends with the girl across the street. She was 15 and I was a baby at 7 but we bonded because we had the same name. She was sweet and would wave to me. She ended up at fifteen picked up hitchhiking and brutally murdered.

It changed me. Her little brother was in my class and ended up being my first kiss years later. His best friend was killed by the Freeway killer years after that.

I have to say growing up in Southern California in the 70's for me was some crazy times indeed.

Re: My first experience of death was a serial killer
She was raped and murdered and tied to a tree naked and left to rot in the mountains three months before she was found! Stabbed! It was awful. Changed my paradigm.

Re: My first experience of death was a serial killer
My dad lived in a small town for years. Drove by a guy who would always wave. I saw him several times.

They found he had buried a woman's body in his yard. He admitted to killing three more and later told an inmate he had killed dozens.

Scary stuff.

My family moved from southern california to illinois on my 6th birthday, 1976.

I have always hated winter, but...

Seems like i should be very grateful.

I was living in Temple City in San Gabriel valley when Rammirez killed his first victim in Arcadia I think and no doubt the whole vibe in and around the area was bizarre to say the least.

Thank you. The cornfields are nice, but not really anything else about it is nice.
