CAT 2 Sunday Morning 11am. South of New Orleans.

UPDATE - Latest GFS has trended east, in a major shift from the previous models. There will be some land interaction from Cuba which will slow down intensification as it enters the Gulf, but it will still likely strengthen to at least a Category 3 as it slams into the New Orleans area.

This will likely continue to change but models have a pretty good handle on where this storm is going to end up now. The intensity is what will be the question going forward.

Cat 4 - 5 for LA not out of the question. This storm is going to cause a lot of damage and many problems. Be safe out there everyone.

UPDATE - GET OUT NOW if you live in the path of the eyewall of this storm. You will NOT be safe. If you must shelter in place, remember to bring an axe, saw, or something with you so you can breach the ceiling. You do not want to drown in your attic. Please be safe everyone. This storm will be catastrophic.

National Hurricane Center model is forecasting a 933mb storm at landfall, and it will maintain that strength right up until the eye hits the coast. There is a slight possibility of a westward turn AWAY from New Orleans, but it isn’t likely. Stay vigilant and evacuate NOW!
