I agree. I am looking further but has to do with Continuity of government and civilians being moved to undisclosed locations.

I just assume the Defcon system dictated that. I guess not.

Military air traffic is high on ADS-B and I noticed two B-52s up in the air at the moment in US. Lots of movement but don't exactly know if that is normal, abnormal, or alert?

COGCON 4 represents normal peacetime operations.[1]
COGCON 3 is a state of heightened readiness, with some government officials required to notify a Watch Office as to their location.[1] During the U.S. State of the Union address, the COGCON is raised to this level and a cabinet member is the "Designated Survivor."
COGCON 2 calls for deployment to a relocation facility with four hours notice. [2]
COGCON 1 calls for the United States government to be relocated to secure, fully staffed bunkers[1] such as the Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center.

I also heard that the press briefings at the White House were cancelled today. Could this be the reason why?

The article posted says that COGCON was moved January of 2021 to level 2. Why is this any different now or is this just a late catch

Evidently I caught it late. I can only tell you what 2 different people that do not know each other told me.

I am still not sure what it all actually means. I know what COG is. However, why would they go to that lower level? I honestly don’t know.
