Many including Biden have said that the war in Afghanistan is the "forever war" so when are the 20,000+ troops in Korea leaving?

Many including Biden have said that the war in Afghanistan is the "forever war" but there has been 20,000 plus US troops in Korea since 1953, this is over sixty years now and adjusted for inflation cannot be far off the two trillion dollars spent in Afghanistan.

So why are all the people who are saying the troops should come home from Afghanistan not also demanding the troops in Korea home as well?

I would have thought that a thousand or so international troops in Afghanistan is a small price to pay going forward to enable the Afghanistan citizens to have a full generational change and build a country from the rubble, more so so the last twenty years have not been wasted.
