I wonder if it is because menthol is known to kill fungus, bacteria, and viruses in the respiratory tract. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 61761870 Who needs Ivermectin when you got a box of Newpos? They’re nasty and not as pleasant as they may sound. They crystallize your lungs over time. Notice that hardly anyone smokes them except for black people. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 79328785 ![]() 09/08/2021 10:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why did the FDA specifically target menthol cigarettes? I wonder if it is because menthol is known to kill fungus, bacteria, and viruses in the respiratory tract. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 61761870 There's also the fact that modern governments are firmly in bed with the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Getting people to switch to alternatives benefits both of them and their investors. The nicotine patch for example not only benefits the drug company selling it but the chemical company creating the materials. If you look at anything that's an "alternative" to smoking tobacco or meant to "help you quit", you'll find chemical companies and drug companies profiting off it. It's worth noting, tobacco is actually a natural substance and most tobacco has nothing but a natural preservative added to it. Menthol is also a natural substance extracted from the oil of mints. It's a common misconception that tobacco products are loaded with artifical ingredients and one that the anti-tobacco/pro-pharmaceutical lobby takes advantage of to no end. |
