Titanic is the most overrated movie.

It is said to be the worst mistake the Academy ever made, and critics look back and wonder what kind of spell they were under when they initially gave the film good reviews.

Yeah, I agree that Titanic was overrated. I also was turned off by the speech that Cameron gave when he accepted the award. He didn´t acknowledge that a lot of people had created the movie, not just him.

You morons are slaves to the darkness of Hollywood. These movies Titanic and Forrest Gump are even greater because they overcame the darkness that controls us. This all started when critics went the way of Pulp Fiction. Now that is an overated movie along with all of Quinten Tarrantino´s flicks. All about substance and style and no care for morality. Funny how the people came with Titanic as a backlash. That is why Cameron gave his speech. Another overrated flick was Armegeddon. Ridiculous movie.

Stop regurgitating what others tell you and make up your own mind or more movies like "What the Bleep", will never be created.

I liked Forrest Gump. As for Titanic, it was a chick flick with great special effects. The acting was good. But there really wasn´t that much to the story. I don´t see the morality of Titanic; a seventeen year old girl was sleeping with two men.

I agree Days of Thunder was overrated. And Tom Cruise is overrated.

I didn´t get the nude and sex scene in Titanic. It seemed way out of place, and ruined what could have been a good family movie in my opinion.



A lot of the commercially successful flicks are way overrated. They may be highly entertaining in many cases, but that doesn´t mean they are not predictable tripe.

Muholland Falls, and Donnie Darko was along the same line as Pulp Fiction.

Overrated or worst?

Overrated= anything by Quentin Tarantino or that Bob Smith guy, like Clerks. Tootsie definitely should be in there as with anything that Robin Williams in it. He is absolutely un-fuckin-watchable.

Worst is tougher, because there are so many contenders. Horror on Party Beach has got to be the worst made film ever to be released, but for sheer chutzpah I´d have to say anything with a Morgan Freeman/Ashley Judd combo would have to take the prize. They are paired up for the only reason of showing how benevolent and wise black males are and how resourceful and strong women are when faced with an evil White male antagonist. Pure fuckin propaganda.

What about "A Beautiful Mind" god that movie stunk in my opinion! Russel Crow was about as believable as a "tortured genius" as Arnold Schwartzenegger, or Stallone would have been!?!?!

I think Eyes Wide Shut was overrated, some rave about it, but having seen it twice, I still do not get the "brilliance" of it.

I liked The English Patient, it turned me on to Ralph Fiennes. There is one scene in that movie that was so sexy that it blew me away.

Robin Williams is way better at playing dark characters--like in Insomnia, One Hour Photo etc.

Morgan Freeman seems to play the same worn out "been burned but still nice" guy in all his movies, and I too am getting a little tired of seeing Ashley Judd play a naive/duped/bimbette lawyer in most of her flicks---her best movie was "Normal Life" hands down!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She was great at playing that psycho Pam!

My god, how anyone gave this more than half a star is beyond me. It was bad enough already, but Stallone stunk-up the theater with his hammy, ´yo Adrian!´ redition of a punch drunk toymaster.

I haven´t seen Patton. I remember suffering through the Godfather when it was on t.v. and wondering what the big deal was.

I don´t recall Armageddon being all that popular.

The godfather was brilliant, modern day Shakespeare going on there.
