Guys, I'm in my local bar, our Guardia Civil friend is here, he hears all the chatter. The north of the island, which is supposed to be dormant is waking up.

That type of lava releases the most poisonous gasses of them all. Reaching the sea is a bad thing. In contrast, Hawaiian type lava basically just steams.

I think one of the people speaking yesterday said they thought the lava would reach the ocean by approx. 8 p.m. island time today (wchich is about now- its 8:25).

Is it close?

We have some real doom for a change. I think, though, if I were there, I’d try to evacuate before it gets worse.

Holy shit, now I'm starting to believe that the entire caldera is filling again. If true, we could indeed be seeing the most epic doom in history since the last Yellowstone eruption.

Last statement I could find was from the Ministry of transport, their twitter, a few hours ago said it was 3km away from the coast, and currently dammed in a trough, moving slower

Yikes.

Maybe you need to think about relocating off the island for a bit (if posible)?

It seems the main vent has changed, as if it's getting deformed by the pressure..

So the theory of the entire island being a super volcano is probably true.

Scary reality

Volcanic activity is the way the Earth cools itself to remain stable if it gets too warm. Volcanoes release Sulfur Dioxide and other gases into the air when the lava reaches the air, which have the opposite effect of carbon dioxide. So, the more volcanoes that go off at one time, the more polluted the air will be with sulfur dioxide, which acts as a reflective shield to the sun and which causes temps to cool.

Looks like we're heading into cooling off period if you look at all the volcanoes going off right now around the world.

Strombolian activity is a new and certainly unexpected level. Makes you wonder whats going down below and not in a good way.
