So how much warning time would we get?
 Quoting: pish

I don't think anyone can answer that with any real certainty, could be hours, days, weeks, months or even years there are so many factors involved and I don't think we are there yet on the science to make anything remotely accurate as far as predicting, everyone is just going off of historical evidence and even then it's a crapshoot
 Quoting: Disenfranchised Godzilla1980

Sorry, not for the eruption.

Assuming it happens, how long does it take the wave to travel to the east coast?
 Quoting: pish

Roughly 7 to 9 hours.

It's moved from an average of 10km underground to an average of 8km underground in just about 24 hours.

Unless it speeds up, it could easily be another 4 days.

The question is will it find a way to release pressure, like a pre-existing tube, or will it be punching straight through solid rock the whole way.

I'm suspicious we may get a new cone north-north-west of the main one.

That would take 4 days.

Yes, it did this twelve hours ago too.

It's just settling in.

The swarms are getting tighter and tighter. I was honestly thinking it would quiet down during my night, but it got super active.

Give it an hour or so, and the next swarm will probably start.

Bugout planning food for thought:

The somewhat unexpected...then...suddenly expedited evacuation chaos/snafus that accompanied the recent La Soufrière stratovolcano eruption on St. Vincent offers a stern warning to the slothful.
By comparison, a large La Palma eruption is like La Soufrière on Krack...as in, Krakatoa.

I visited the Canary islands of La Palma and Fuerteventura in the mid eighties for windsurfing demo tour.
I have to say, La Palma gave me the heebie jeebies like no other island or mainland among the multi-plethra that I have set a foot on in my six decades of earth travels to date.

I knew nothing at all about La Playa's earthquake, landslide, megatsunami potential at that time.
But I definitely felt a foreboding, an unexplained uneasiness there that seemed to emanate from the dry dusty ground itself, and not from local culture there, or anything in the world of men.

La Playa's vibe was otherworldly or primeval, antediluvian worldly, as if its tumultuous creation time wasn't quite done.
Once we moved on to Fuerteventura, my foreboding subsided, but even there felt like being in the shadow of something bad.

I thought it would be helpful to post this NOAA tsunami awareness page here. It has some solid facts:

[link to oceantoday.noaa.gov (secure)]

There's a video but here's the jist:

"When you’re in a coastal area, it’s important to keep alert for messages from local officials, such as lifeguards, police, The US Tsunami Warning Centers and NOAA All Hazards Radio.

If you find yourself in a location of a tsunami strike, here’s what you need to do to stay safe: keep calm; walk or run to higher ground, 100 feet above sea level or 1 mile inland;
do not drive – keep roads open for emergency vehicles; if you cannot move to higher ground, use the stairs to get to the third floor or higher in a sturdy building; follow all instructions from local officials, and stay out of coastal areas until authorities issue an “all clear.”"

Edit: never mind...this is not for a mega tsnuami. But good to know anyway.

Sorry, not for the eruption.

Assuming it happens, how long does it take the wave to travel to the east coast?

between 7-9 hours are the estimates

Wow that’s some nice long term stress, if it happens. Could forage for some wood and bark and build a raft in that time.
