Should evacuations be starting ? I guess if I was the survivalist type would I be bugging out NOW ! ? Watch the elephants ,that's what I would do .They know stuff .

honestly I don't know...not a bad idea to see what nature is doing in your neck of the woods, they seem to have a better idea of things that are about to happen better than people and they don't have social media

I think a lot of people honestly don't know what's going to happen and don't want to stir a panic then look like idiots if nothing comes about, that's how people lose their jobs and their reputations get trashed and elected officials or people in academia are in no hurry to do that to themselves

At this point, their key agency is not calling this imminent (I am pretty sure I saw that it was somewhere--but can't find it!).

It's going to be a wait, watch, and see thing. I would def not panic, I said that many many pages ago.

But having a go bag and keeping an eye on things seems sensible!!

The likelihood of an eruption is increasing.

I'd be considering it if I lived on the east coast!

At the very least my truck would already be packed with my belongings!

It could take weeks till it erupts or settles down .Potential weeks of watching .I'm totally ready to monitor it for that long

A lot of people have their job on the line if they create a panic.

I wouldn't recommend panicking, but it is definitely something that would have changed my routine if I lived on the east coast. Pack stuff, consider filling a tub. Consider that it MIGHT be a Tsunami somewhere along the coast. What will happen?

Do I have transport?
Do I have a backups?
Where is somewhere safe?
Can I take other people?
Or just focus on my family?

It is definitely building up a lot of energy. Slow and steady. Using Krakatoa as an example, because no one has ever really studied anything like that. So we have no idea on what to compare to.

A 4-5km quake is probably superheated water converting into steam.

A 7 km quake is probably the earth getting pushed around by the sheer heat. There is so much energy and pressure involved, the scale is just a thousand times anything we can create in a lab.

When it calms down, its probably building a magma chamber.

That's whats so exciting for me. This is the first time I have been able to observe the buildup and not just the theory.
