But then they moved that 3.5 5km location from the old caldera to offshore SE of Island???!! How can they be that far off on locations? Now I don't trust what is really going on where!

Explain why a medium solar flare interacts with magma miles below ground or with volcanoes.
What's the science on it?
Quoting: Agent Smith 2014

I couldn't care less what "science" says; it is corrupt to the core.

I think what we call gravity is charge traveling through our planet. Our planet has a negative charge, and "space" has a positive charge. Solar flares are charged particles and should affect the charge potential of the earth, ie "charge pressure", which would affect gravity. Gravity affects the magma.

An example of this is tides, that are affected by the charge pressure of the moon, which acts as a capacitor plate.

Something I wanted to run by you guys, touching on a subject that I spoke about previously.

I personally believe that we may all live to see the Heinrich-Bond Cycle (6,000 Year Catastrophe Cycle) reset this entire planet and human development via Solar Micronova and subsequent Geomagnetic Excursion. If you follow the work of Ben Davidson (Suspicious0bservers) then this concept will be familiar to you. If it isn’t, check out his “CIA: Classified” and “Safe Zones” videos on YouTube. It will be well worth your time, I promise.

Once you familiarize yourself with the overwhelming body of research he presents, certain implications become very obvious in considering the aftermath a megatsunami on the US East Coast. The mega-tsu would cause a “smaller” collapse of the US and Western Civilization. Tens of Millions would die in the initial catastrophic event…and Hundreds of Millions across the entire Country would die in the Collapse of Civilization that followed. Say goodbye to your Internet and modern conveniences, as well as the availability of all supplies- and any semblance of Normalcy that you ever enjoyed. We would descend into FULL SHTF in a matter of days or weeks. The only long-distance form of Communication would likely be Ham Radio. But the Heinrich-Bond Cycle Event that is coming (possibly as early as the 2030s) would be a whole new level of death and destruction to any survivors and communities who managed to stay alive during the initial aftermath of that mega-tsunami some years before. Full scale Extinction Level Event…with only a select handful of locations on earth that will be safe from the inertially displaced wrath of entire oceans washing over entire Continents. You’ll still have to possibly deal with the insta-cooking Solar Flash, molten Fire falling from Heaven, 200 mph winds and deadly manifestations of continuous Lightning on steroids that electrify waterways across the globe. I recommend having a cave or bunker at high elevation within a Safe Zone to ensure you and your families’ survival through this.

Sorry to be a buzzkill. The megatsunami is an evil, but it is a lesser evil compared to this.

If we experience a collapse and loss of all Communications from a megatsunami, you’re never going to receive a warning later on in the Event of a Heinrich-Bond Reset. You’ll never see it coming and it will wipe out most humans on this planet. It’s the Original Bad Boy of Extinction Level Events and our planet has undergone its’ execution countless times through untold ages in Earth’s history.

My advice is, if you find yourself living in the aftermath of a megatsunami…begin your sojourn to the nearest anticipated Safe Zone (watch Ben’s video to see where they are.) Start rebuilding your life THERE, if it’s at all possible. Nothing else- anywhere else- will provide you with any permanence in the long term.

You will find me and mine in Western North Carolina if we reach that point in time.

Love y’all

Quoting: _Seraphim_

I said this a week or so ago....if the entire infrastructure were gone....nuclear power plants melted down, etc., no utilities, no supplies....

Really - HOW LONG would we be able to survive? As you said, societal breakdown every where.

Personally - this is what I said a week or so ago. I would rather go out on the first wave and be GONE to a better place than try to survive barely hanging on like that.

Read One Second After. Life was pretty bad, and 90% of those who survived it died anyway within the first year. All conjecture, of course, but pretty accurate, I'd bet.

Anyway, I DO have fam up in that neck of the woods, too, and could go there, too, but they're not my favorite poeple....a little batty....and probably would make me go so batty I'd be sorry I was there! LOL I don't believe my BIL would - no scratch that - COULD lift a finger to defend us/his property. He's a pansy, always been one. Doesn't like guns....only shot ONE ROUND in my husband's 9 mm, just to say he could and it recoiled on him so bad he put a splint on his wrist for a week!!!!

I wouldn't count on HIM to even watch this thread for an evening and report any anomalies! And that's the only "support system/family" I would consider going to.

Nope. Just staying here, hope it isn't worst case, and if it is, so be it.

That's not for everybody, I know. That's just me.
Quoting: Deplorable NO MORE Michele B

I don’t blame you- and I understand where you’re coming from. This is one reason I want to start an Organization that will give those of us who are “aware” a close-knit support structure in the event of a catastrophe. Like you say, not everyone is lucky enough to have survival-conscious family and a good defensive unit if SHTF.

Lol @ the splinted wrist.

I’ve got my son to take care of…so as long as he stays alive, I have a reason to fight and struggle and suffer. If we have any type of major world-ending catastrophe, I’m taking my family as deep into high-elevation Appalachia as we can go.

There will be no human rule of law when it all goes down. We’ll revert back to the Law of Nature, aka “rules of the jungle.”

When I was little, a relative on the other side of my family gave me a small plush Dalmatian dog with a fire helmet. Carried that thing with me everywhere, nobody could get it away from me. I called it my “teddybear” (even though it wasn’t a bear, per say) Still had it when my son was born and gave it to him. As a grown man, my pistol is my teddybear…I don’t feel safe without it and I’d never let anyone take it away from me. The dark side of human nature is always lurking and waiting for the right moment- and I’ll never let myself be unprepared for it, or at its’ mercy.

Ok, so let me get this straight…before the Cumbre Vieja volcano blew 3 weeks ago, there was an uplift on the south part of the island.

Now there is a new uplift on the north part of the island, where the old dormant volcano is.

Does this mean that the old dormant volcano is going to come back to life?

Sounds logical and would follow reason.

If and only if it remains small.

There is an insane amount of magma in the system. If it falls low enough to let in seawater….

Or creates a crack under the water line….

Slow is the least of the problems. All outcomes have limits of no return.

Alrighty, deformation data on La Palma dug up from the past.

First deformation study: 2010
[link to core.ac.uk (secure)]

This is a slideshow by 4 Spanish universities in tandem with IGN of data from the 70's up until 2008. They performed a GPS campaign from 1994-2008 and came up with the following data: It shows ANNUAL deformation figures in the MILLIMETERS, not cm. Over the 14 years covered in the study, La Palma's Cumbre Vieja region is the largest section of the island with regular deformation, shown to on average as 3mm per year. So with that stat, the eruptive area has only deformed by 36mm (3.6cm) since the end of the study.

https://imgur.com/a/FG2fR2r

Onto the next deformation study: circa 2020
file:///C:/Users/Admin/AppData/Local/Temp/remotesensing-12-02566.pdf

This one goes from 2006-2020, and boy does it resonate with the earlier rendition linked above. The first phase was from 2006-2012, and the second phase from 2012-2020; This paper discusses the first phase results, and was published in 2020. Using GPS and DinSAR methods this paper comes to the conclusion that there is no new magma under Cumbre Vieja, and that typical annual deformation in the 1-2cm range.

https://imgur.com/a/MBBxE0w

Third deformation study: circa 2010
[link to citeseerx.ist.psu.edu (secure)]

This paper analyzes the data from phase one of the above study, and validates it using the Coherent Pixel Technique. Conclusions are in concurrence that accross the whole island relative deformation should be between 0.5-1cm annually. I didn't feel the need to cut/paste/imgur this one.

------------------------------------------------------

SO, looks like these daily/weekly deformation maps we're seeing are DEFINITIVELY abnormal, and important to the ongoing situation. As a rule of thumb 1cm deformation or inflation is typical of an entire year on the island. One thing I'll bring myself to do since I haven't seen it done yet is compile all these post-eruption maps and make a composite to show how much TOTAL deformation has happened since the eruption began. Hopefully will have that started this evening. Anyone have a link to the history of published maps on IGN?

Just in case. Always be prepared and have an emergency exit plan ready in place.

Here is a compilation of GLP members comments I started organizing early on when the volcano erupted and started to look scary. These are some of the plans people here have to say about how to get out of dodge as fast as possible should a megatsunami actually be heading for the East Coast of the U.S. Then after I got enough to organize into comments by state here on this thread, I posted it as its own thread.

All I did was copy the comments and paste them into a more organized fashion state by state. Different routes, a few had differing opinions and I included that too, others had some travel tips, but it all centers around getting out to high ground asap. Nothing is in stone, it's just what others would do, then people can take that information and set up a plan of their own.

I also included some tips I thought important at the bottom of the page with links.

Everyone should have an emergency bug out plan pre-drawn up anyways.
