What's up with the shallow quakes North West of the volcano? Between 1 & 4 Km depth... Could we see a new vent open up there soon? [ link to www.ign.es] Quoting: Economic Prepper Those EQ's are mostly small - 1 to 2 magnitude. This geologist suggests that they are the result of sinking or subsidence of the volcano as the last erupted rock begins to fill empty space in what was once a full magma chamber (he also wants to see more data). He states that the recent cracks seen in the main cinder cone are further evidence of this theory as the ground subsides in an uneven manner. [ link to www.youtube.com (secure)]
