According to my DNA I do not have the ACE2 gene..
I've been trying to figure this mystery out, but my DNA says I don't have the ACE2 GENE. everywhere I've read it says everyone has it but the only ace genes that show up is this. ACE (ACE1, CD143, DCP, DCP1) that could be why covid didn't do anything to me. Maybe part alien lol

I downloaded my raw data from 23&me and then used a 3rd party app Genomapp to search for individual genes.

This past February I tested positive for covid. Day#1 I had a fever at night for less then 10 hours, Day#2 went and tested positive, Day#3 back to normal, went hiking each day 6+ miles (day # 3-10 hiked) had no lung issues not a single cough, only thing was lack of energy and loss of taste. I am RH- (A-) I'm 39.3% German, 22.2% British and Irish, 13.1% Greek, 5.2% Sicilian (Italian), 5.1% Scandinavian, 2.3% Egyptian, and 0.5% Finnish

Any comments or ideas?

Yes don't trust mail in genetic testing. If you think that is real medical genetic testing, that you can rely on for medical information, I would think again. If you want real genetic testing, go to a lab and have it done. Until then, I would not make much of it.

Multiple times twins sent their shit in to get different results. Guy sent his gecko in and got human lineage. Waste of money those things.

Why not? That's a good thing. I've been sick once since the 1990's something is different with me for sure..

I think ACE2 is a protien / receptor specific to some cells not a gene,
And there not present in childrens lungs.

It's most likely hit or miss, depending on how lazy the lab tech is.

I did it about 2.5 years ago, and it immediately knew who my brother, sister, parents, and aunts/uncles/cousins were because they also did the DNA test (which I didn't know they had done it).

So it was accurate at least in that regard.

If you have bad luck and get an affirmative action lab tech, then yeah, your results may vary.

Well what gene creates that "protein" then?

They are all rsid's that 23andme use for the ace2 gene. If you have 23andme just go to the raw data search (not the download) and search for any of those rsid's and the ace2 gene will come up.

Or just type in ACE2 to the raw data search bar. You don't need some 3rd party software to do this.

Everybody does have the ACE2 gene but what you'd want to know specifically is if your version of the ACE2 gene is one that is very low, low, or moderate, or high expression. Along with the TMPRSS2 / TMPRSS4 genes. There's is really more to SARS-CoV-2 than just an ACE2 gene.

You must have a newer test, they only genotype a few ace2 genes. My sons test only has 3, my older test has all the ones I listed.

23 and me isn't the only genealogy company which exists...lol.

You can try analyzing your raw data file via PROMETHEASE.COM which is very thorough.

No shit. OP said they used 23andme raw data and they didn't have an ace2 gene. I proved that op does have the ace2 gene using their 23andme. Ive tested with 4 company's, and have had individual snps done to figure out past what a "big-y" can show to create the new subclade for my Y Haplogroup.

I'm not here to get in a pissing match. I've used the paid version of PROMETHEASE on my grandmother, son, and wife. My cousin CeCe used dna and gedmatch to lockup the golden state killer. I know a little bit about this stuff.
