I worked my minimum wage jobs, several between the age of 12-18. Ice cream shop, sandwich shop, coffee shop, restaurants....

I didn't walk out because "Jared" put his hand on my thigh (actually, his name was Mo) and I didn't feel imposed upon because I had to work a shit job for a shit wage. That's how you start out.

Nowadays, kids (teens) don't really work anymore. Back in the 80's and 90's, it was pretty common. But you don't see it much anymore, those positions have mostly been taken by illegals.

I contributed to the household expenses starting at age 15, having taken care of all my own expenses starting at age 12. I put myself through college, built a career, saved up enough money to bail on my corporate job. There you go, there's your answer. You're so impressed with pink haired moron leaving a min wage job - I walked away from a six figure career over the jab.

Tons of people live check to check. I had to get into my 40's before I made enough to save up.

Kids, or young people, shouldn't have an expectation to make a lot of money if they're just gonna go be a barista or food server (pre covid). Of course now, that whole industry has been nearly destroyed so it's hard to make any money there.

Especially when they happily go into debt for a degree. Buying a degree is like buying a house...you'll be paying a long time.
