anybody else notice a sudden disappearance of squirrels and chipmunks
So my mom mentioned last week all of the squirrels and chipmunks she feeds have disappeared suddenly, now I'm seeing many other people in my community saying the same thing.

There's also a stench of dead animals throughout our yards and driving up and down the roads.

Anyone else notice anything like this going on?

usually I only see one but there were three

Black cat has decimated our population. I even had some tame that would eat out my lap. Now dead. This cat is tough. Seen a monstrous ground squirrel in his mouth a few days back.

Did you ever consider nature produces abundance in areas which she requires?

It doesn't take much effort to offer squirrels an alternative food source, since you are occupying their land as well as your land.

I think our count went up. Can see dozens in any given day. Our dog thinks there's a damn squirrel army amassing outside.

Ok sounds like it may just be our area then, we had a lot of rainfall with Ida so its possible the flooding and rain made them migrate.

I noticed a huge number of Ogre faced spiders in my area. They always show up this time of year but you can't walk anywhere around here without coming face to face with these giant spiders.

We have “prairie dogs” here, out west. Haven’t seen as many for sure. Saw a hawk grab one the other day though.

when i was at fort riley i was kinda messing around with a college chick. her family used to feed dry corn to nearby prairie dogs "munchkin dogs" or "munchins". like we feed squirrels and birds up here in 'sconsin lol.

It was kinda cute to watch them nibble on the food. :D

Maybe Richard Gere switched to squirrels?

Like they say, once you've gone squirrel...

Actually, I don't think anyone says that.

The squirrels around here are tough little SOBs. You would not want them anywhere near your nuts. :)

Chipmunks yes, squirrels no.

For months I was seeing chipmunks everyday, not one in three months now. Not one.
