A real atheist doesn't attribute evil, no matter how extreme, to any supernatural explanation or resolution, anything unscientific, unprovable.

I'm not atheist by definition but I don't believe in one specific religion. Religion in a whole (all religions) are important. Humans Without the ability to believe in something grandeur doesn't have guidance.

OP, considering you 'heard all the arguments' you're probably familiar with this quote from Epicurus:

“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.

Why would the presence of evil make God MORE likely? Doesn't that just demonstrate that God is either malevolent or nonexistent?
