Quoting: pool Would you tell us more about your grandson's reaction to your talk about death? Does he come to ask you for more clarity on other things? Is he memorizing scriptures with you each day? He is only 8. He was a captive audience on a two hour drive. He listened mostly and I could see he was absorbing and processing the truth of it all. He is but a child and as such, the vain things of this world mean a lot to him. He is creative in the excuses he comes up with when there are things he would rather not be doing. He still thinks words can forstall action and hasn't yet figured out that arguing is a waste of time. He will spend 20 minuets arguing about why he can't do something that would only take 5 minuets to accomplish and be done with it. Such is the way of children. I know adults like that too. They never grew up. I don't want him becoming one of them. |

To be of heaven, yet a mere shroud Of wisps in grips of transmuting whims Of the cardinal disputing winds? Would it be wholesome, never soiled, To be pure water by air toiled, Engulfed in fire, in shadow cast And never, ever be meant to last? Would it be freedom that would be felt To dot the kingdom of 'Rion's belt And shed all one is in drops of tears Upon Gaia's face to assuage fears That life will one day come to an end? Would she look up and behold a friend? If I were me I'd wonder why someone would present questions rather than requested statements. I'd wonder why someone would present a personalization of something that is not human to aid in the venture of staying human. The piece says something of what it is, in my view, to remain human no matter the circumstance found in this world, and I often come back to it for that very reason. A beautiful insight into it spurred not by me just yesterday was the fact that we are so apt to see dark clouds overhead and tremble with fear at the portent of the weather changing. Do we ever wonder what kind of end our world would see if we disillusioned the loneliest cloud that could ever be on account of our own uncertainties? |

I am a huge Dune fan, not news. What maybe is news is that I have unfulfilled cosplay fantasies. So, to any sandy vaginas that would be ok with me cosplaying a little maker that kisses and licks and burrows and encapsulates the water within, please knock me up if you can. If by chance you plan on coaxing multiple little makers into becoming a second skin that will allow you to become Shai Hulud in the flesh and live for millenia with perfect presciece, I accept a small part in that within said decent proposal. If you aren't sandy but think we need to talk about my fantasies, I would agree but argue that we probably shouldn't. |

If I never came across sandy vaginas, though, there would be no space for that fantasy to occupy. So, I think it's all mostly ado with post-occupational hazards and not what's prefaced. |

Does Dune influence other realms of your life, your habitat, your imagination; at one time I felt a visceral bond with HR Giger in that we both created art of similar styles..I was influenced by a water stain on a ceiling, he was influenced to embrace the life of the images he created. I was unaware of him until many years after this stage of my imagination exploration. Habitat, no, not at all. Imagination, absolutely. Themes comes out in my poetry that are volumes of story espoused in a few words. Only one familiar with said themes would be able to gather all of the context they bring in. Two characters in particular, Ghanima and the leader of the Honored Matres the Bene Gesserit highest council would refer to as the spider queen spur a lot of inspiration weaving. She's lately referred to, by me, as the spooder queen. I don't think she likes that much, but I love it. It's like strangling the nope rope with a boop noodle kingsnek. Dune was a culmination of a sort of exploration I was unaware of the deeper meaning within when venturing through a budding imagination within reading. Out of the Silent Planet series, then Lord of the Flies, then Brave New World, then Lord of the Rings, then Dune. They are all so popular it doesn't make sense to me. How it's been so very possible to not cross a path with another as intimately aware of the stories in those fourteen books. I probably have, but how often do people talk about books... Bonds come few and far between for me in that way, on a level to be called visceral. Or they come quite often, depending on the limitation of the perspective. I feel it with nature - trees and wildlife in particular - not every time, but quite nearly. Hawk pictured below took up flight from a junction of two creeks we hiked down to. It's partner I spied lifting up toward the canopies and then out of the corner of my left eye the framed one came along, flying directly over the creek, eye level no more than twenty feet away from me. A tear literally dropped onto my camera as I fidgeted trying to remember how to operate it. The first perch it made directly in front of me by about forty feet or so I couldn't catch it on, but I did on the second perch it took at eye level another 30 feet or so further away. Authoring, obviously, is the form of art that really grips me, but I have lost myself many times browsing through HR Giger's work, not to mention 'Alien' being a movie I could re-watch endlessly. Not to draw comparisons, but if I were to construct Venn diagrams of artistic impressionists I am fond of the work of, Giger would occupy a sphere of mine along with Scott Mutter, Alex Grey, and Salvador Dali. :honeycombhawk: |

Everyone you have mentioned (imo) was fascinated with conducting time in a particular way. Quoting: pool What is your [current] relationship to time? Did they share that fascination? Not asking for further proof, I'll take your word for it, just fascinated is all. That bond thing. I'm a weird kind of fan in that I seldom am drawn to learn more of the person behind the concepts, songs, stories, or images that draw me in. That's a lovely little fun fact, thank you. That's an interesting question ado with a relationship to time. The most straight-forward answer right now would be that it's changing in a way I can pinpoint very clearly. I might venture to say that relationship has always been changing. I would certainly say that if so, I have been aware less oft than not of how. It's not the compressive side of time I'm thinking of though, the expansive side that is the future. Rather than places to reside, things to have, envisioned constructs to manufacture, I lately find myself seeing the potential time holds to be filled with things to do particularly with re-establishing old connections with new sorts of awarenesses to bring into the experience as opposed to seeking out new connections to establish as a potential or even hopeful end-all-be-all. Particularly things to do that are not dependent upon wherever it may be that I reside or who may or may not join in with me. I very seldom as of late press time for any certain experience or conversation or inspiration to come, falling into more constructive and cathartic purposes for outlooked time not already necessarily vested into the ticks passed towards the matters of self-sufficiency. We all have a creature of habit within. There is no sense denying one's nature, as the choice is always there as to what outlet the instinct is driven to engage in. I think time favors those who shy away from both instant gratitude and instant gratification, who maintain the awareness of the pervasive interconnectedness, the patience, and the curiosity to see just how much so it runs deep. Perhaps that's akin to what you mean by spiritual pacing. |
