You must fight harder. The things you mention are materialistic. Your true wealth resides in your sacred family. The world is a most unfair place, as I have been where you are. I know the valley seems deep and long, but do not give up hope and instead let it burn hard and bright to guide your way. If you are rightous, you will rise. Keep the faith close to you and learn from this time, accepting the humility that is given. Believe me when I say that people appreciate and accept humility more than despair - and both can be evident when interacting with others. Prayers your way my friend.
The wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind exceedingly fine.

Re: close to giving up
I am an ex truck driver.
Over the road drivers, long haul drivers are desperately needed right now.
I read the other day that there is about an 85,000 driver deficit.
My brother-in-law still drives. He tells me that companies are begging for drivers.
I made around $50,000 my first year of driving.
You can make more, just depends how much effort you want to put into it.

You can earn your Class A CDL by paying out of pocket at a driving School or there are lots of companies that will hire you, train you, and put you in a truck as long as you agree to pay them back over a year or so.
This is the route I took. Got my license and was turned loose in about six weeks.

It is a different and difficult life.
You are gone from your home and family a lot. You are always alone. Live in a truck, eat over priced truck stop food, have to learn to sleep any where and at any time.
You wont get to shower every day and the hours are long and always random.

But. It is a way to make good money, quickly, and without a lot of cash out lay.

Just throwing this out there as an option.

Well you can’t do it w $1000 but you could get a van and post on Craigs list. People always need a Van Man. To move stuff, etc. w another guy can go into business. You can also get into cheap business like painting, household repair, steam cleaning, window washing, etc.

Every business has a ton of videos on YouTube.

If you live near a city you can do corporate car chauffeur. They give you a car, train you and give you the work.

Search chauffeur under craigs list or indeed.

Prayers.

Don't give up.
 Quoting: High-C

I agree, but what does it mean?

Can you stop paying those bills, declare bankruptcy, start a lawn business, or something like that, and hold your family together.

Maybe you can still afford to buy a camper buy selling your house.

Take your family and join the gypsies, looking for seasonal and casual labor.

Could you pull it off without scaring your family. Tell them you have it all in control, and life will be more of an adventure.

Explain to them that there will be people still stuck in their homes when cities start to burn, and they will be stuck, unprepared, and unable to find a camper to flee their homes. But you will be ready to take them quickly out of any bad place, where danger begins to present itself.

If the lights go out, you will already be on the road, and you will have found and marked possible safe places everywhere you go.

Be the captain of your ship.

Praying won't help you if you aren't watching what is going on and making plans to deal with it.

If you do it intelligently, showing mild enthusiasm rather than fear, and watching to see which way the wind is blowing, you will be doing the best you could have done. You will be prepared and way out in front of troubles.

It is economic and social collapse, it will get much worse for everybody than it is for you right now, but you can be prepared, ready to move away from any place that is about to be locked down.

My breaking point has come dunno what to do next. Been on GLP for many years, love this place and turn to it in times of sorrow and boredom. This is a time of sorrow.

A prayer would be helpful.
 Quoting: BLARGON

There was a time in my life where I felt the same. I was just married and had one child already and my wife was expecting our second. As a consequence of my lifestyle and choice of acquaintances I ended up going to prison. I felt ashamed I wasn't there to provide and take care of my family. I was truly broken by that experience. However I vowed never again and meant it. Ultimately it led me to move 800 miles from where I was so we could have a future. I worked hard in everything I did and refused to accept failure, it wasn't an option. 21 years later while not perfect, I own a home, and my family is still together. You have to fight for what you want and keep your family in mind always. Never give up, they need you there more than you know. Stay strong brother and have faith. Sending love and prayers, may your road be a little less bumpy. Kind regards.

Well this is more to supplement your income but if you get a capital one credit card they send you coupons everyday. I thought yeah just another silly little coupon but no my fiancée gets big shit with them for free after a couple weeks. Save them up for Black Friday or something and get a bunch of shit. List on Facebook and repeat when you find deals.. although I agree 100% with the frenchy about connections, still pray and be sincere. It’s helped me in my darkest times. Hang in there man

Re: close to giving up
First thing you do is be vulnerable and honest with your loving wife. She's your partner. If you don't have that trust or type of relationship, then start there.

You're a purchasing manager.
The food industry is hiring like crazy. There are so many food businesses, and large ones, who hire procurement mgrs.
Try Compass Group. Largest food business in the world. We work with their Canadian group.

As for what you're experiencing psychologically.
I hear victimizing, comparison, and a lack of self worth and a need to validate.

Just remember. You are worthy. You don't need to prove anything or compare yourself to others. You're simply in a tight squeeze and need some help. Be a man and ask for it. This whole charade of men these days needing to hide their shit is over. It's time to open up and help each rise to the occasion.

Find some good men in your area to lean on and talk to.
You will get through this challenge and your wife and child will love you no matter what.

That’s not true, OP. That’s not how this works so don’t put that kind of pressure on yourself.

When you marry, if you’ve met the right woman, you’ve found your lifelong partner. In sickness and in health, remember? She needs to support you to the end just like you’re supporting her.

So as other posters wrote, you’re going through a difficult time. It’s time to cut back. You need to have “the talk” with her so she knows exactly where things stand. Then you’re going to make a household plan and that’s going to include some sacrifices.

Start by cutting out everything that is non essential. Ask your wife to help you find discounts or even cut coupons. In the meantime, don’t give up. If you were alone that’s one thing, but your family needs you. And trust me, no child is better off without his or her dad. NONE.
Like I told my ex-wife, I said: honey, I never drive faster than I can see. Besides that, it’s all in the reflexes…

Then take the Taco Bell job and sell your house. Buy a cheaper house you can afford on a Taco Bell salary.

You won't lose your family if you can house and feed them... But if you can't afford the house you've got now, you need a house you can afford.

There's little point looking for a purchasing manager job, because warehousing made the job redundant with software that tracks stock via barcodes.

You already know your job was automated, now you need another job.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I had a friend that was still living with his parents at 41 years old. The last job he had was 20 years ago. Well both of his parents died, and his sister gave him 90 days to move out of the house. I suggested that he needed to get a job, and save up some money to buy a camper, since he could not afford an apartment. I told him he could use me as reference.
He later got a job delivering groceries with instacart. There are other places such as Uber eats, door dash, and postdates ,
Other jobs such as moving furniture, or assembling IKEA furniture. (sites ike Taskrabbit . Many of theses jobs can be done in the afternoon while you spend your mornings searching for new opportunities. Your family needs you, so stay strong and stay positive and you will find employment. Best of luck to you.

Are you in Canada? Where are you and what kind of money do you need to save the house? If you're in Canada it's a whole other set of advice.

Can you go to another city alone temporarily to work? Here in Nashville people get 15 dollars to flip burgers, more to chop veggies. There are numerous temp agencies for professionals and probably 2 weeks contracts to be had. Can you get into construction somehow? People are desperate for contractors, I'm desperate!

What hourly /weekly wage do you need and where are you? What is your mortgage? Do you live in an area you can rent a room out in the house on ai*bnb for quick cash? In some towns that's 100 bucks a night if they can have a private room.

Start a crowd fund immediately for next months mortgage. Do the wife and daughter work part time?

So sorry you're in this situation.

Nobody needs to take a job at Taco Bell but he lowest ranks of our society or recovering alcoholics and addicts.

There is no way to give someone any advice without knowing what area they live in. In some remote small town, yes, working Taco bell a few weeks might be an option, but seriously? If he could take a Temp professional job in Nashville for a month, I could let him stay here rent free.

I let people know my area right away when I asked for help. Opportunities are all incumbent upon location, that's why people live near cities.

We need to know his location and the mortgage payment amount. They need to meet that amount at minimum every month.

As I suggested renting room could be an option. If they live in a remote area, it's going to be tough. He needs to engage his family and ask for help. His wife and daughter can get work as well.

I admire that you're a Trucker, but that is not a life option for most people. That is far to difficult and life on the road is far to harsh. He'll loose the house in a month, he doesn't have time for that.

We need to determine his location. everything is incumbent on where he is. In most large cities driving local starts at 22 an hour to start is the going rate. As far as driving you can do Fed Ex, Amazon and other deliveries with no special training and stay local. But driving is a high stress job most people can't do.
