The real reason the first civil war was fought.
The south wanted to secede from the union,
Freedom from slavery was a cover.

It was also to preserve white supremacy. This was written in many southern states consitutions including Texas my hoem state. Got a link to some proof of that? I think the South just said fuck you to the North and had better deals from France for trade. All that other shit got added on later but Lincoln didn't give a crap about slaves.
