BREAKING: Attack Submarine USS Connecticut Suffers Underwater Collision in Pacific

A U.S. nuclear attack submarine has been damaged in international waters in the Western Pacific, USNI News has learned.

The Seawolf-class nuclear attack submarine USS Connecticut (SSN-22) suffered an underwater collision while operating in international waters on Oct. 2 and is returning to port in U.S. 7th Fleet, a U.S. Pacific Fleet spokesman confirmed to USNI News on Thursday.

“The Seawolf-class fast-attack submarine USS Connecticut (SSN-22) struck an object while submerged on the afternoon of Oct. 2, while operating in international waters in the Indo-Pacific region. The safety of the crew remains the Navy’s top priority. There are no life-threatening injuries,” Capt. Bill Clinton told USNI News.

Connecticut is one of three Sea Wolf-class boats, a late Cold War attack submarine designed to hunt the most complex Soviet submarines in deep blue water. Along with USS Sea Wolf (SSN-21) and USS Jimmy Carter (SSN-23), Connecticut is among the Navy’s most capable and sensitive attack boats.

Several sailors injured after submarine USS Connecticut ‘struck an object’ underwater earlier this month:

The ship has had to transit at the surface and is slated to arrive in Guam today, said the official, who added that it’s unclear whether the Connecticut’s damage will affect its mission readiness.

“The submarine remains in a safe and stable condition,” the Navy said in a statement. “USS Connecticut’s nuclear propulsion plant and spaces were not affected and remain fully operational.”

Readers informed Navy Times of the mishap earlier this week. Navy Times agreed to hold off on publication of this mishap until the sub and its sailors were safely in port.

The sub left Naval Base Kitsap-Bremerton, Washington, for deployment in May.

HE HE HE. Same old shit. China Sea, you say?

Back in the cold war, the fast attack subs would head up under the Arctic ice pack and hunt for Russian subs. The Russians were doing the same. When each side would identify each other, they would turn and head straight at the other sub.

They played chicken with billion dollar subs. Who ever turned first had to leave the playing field.

When I went to see my brother at the navy base he was stationed at, I saw a sub that the conning tower was nearly all ripped off. I asked him about it and he said to shut up and I never saw it.

Years later, he told me what happened. Play chicken and rip off the conning tower or smash the hull and flood a chamber.

There's always an Arquillian Battle Cruiser, or a Corillian Death Ray, or an intergalactic plague that is about to wipe out all life on this miserable little planet, and the only way these people can get on with their happy lives is that they DO NOT KNOW ABOUT IT!

That is what happens when you drive around with your sonar turned off. As in the sub doing the same thing after the 'big Christmas Quake'.

Sounds very plausible in the case of this incident. I can see that happening more than they saw absolutely nothing on their sonar considering subs don't have windows and that's the only thing they can use to navigate safely.

It's a fake. Say it's going back to Port while it's just hiding and waiting for further orders.

Or they let Biden drive it and he crashed
