Evergrande seems to be sinking all the way down. Despite what others say about 'tricks up their sleeves'; this has been years in the making. People in China have been sinking a fortune into real estate because the government holds the value of property as fixed. If you buy a house, you are guaranteed, it will always have a certain value. When I was leaving, the area I was in had already changed that number. People were not happy. VERY not happy. That was four months ago. The economy is already weak. China is having to walk a very delicate position. Bail out Evergrande, and there is a chance China will implode into a civil war. Bail out the middle class, and there is a chance the economy will explode. Kind of a lose lose situation. Will it 'mega doom' the world's economy? No clue. Is this good? Nope. But I just got out of China, so I don't care too much. Hmmm. Lots of big US investors ready to jump in and buy up China. Maybe China will allow foreign investors as a result of their failure? Big investors with tons of paper money in the quadrillions. You don't get it; our dollars are just as fake as the chinese yuan is; they are just as hyperinflated as we are. We will crash together; one rolling default after another all over the world. |
