Blessed doesn't mean, "Hey you, pray to me, here's how, and be sure to kneel and I promise you this and that for praying to me and here's a scapular wear it. Here's a medal with my image, wear it." Mary played an important role in the Bible but nowhere did she ask or receive worship/pray/veneration however you want to spin it. A Bible verse does not lead to Marian devotions like the Catholics, Orthodox and some others may participate in. It's just like prayer to other Saints. If praying to Saints, Mary included, was so important, you would think that SOMEWHERE in the Bible it would spell it out, even a verse or two, but no... and it's NOTHING like asking a friend to pray for you, your friend is visible, so-called Saints are asleep until the resurrection. |
