Actually they and the cats get along rather nicely. :) Wow, that's quite the condemnation, I'm glad you didn't eat any of it. Quoting: mercury2If you are going to feed those guys, why not get a bag of cat chow, that would be healthy for them and cheap enough? |

mopar28m User ID: 360162 United States 01/23/2008 01:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hi Mercury. Quoting: op 220595I'm sure they'd love that. I bought them dog biscuits last year, but cat chow would be tastier. I worry about them being too comfortable around humans though. It's probably not good to feed wild animals. They'll keep coming back. They'll provide a nice viewing. My grandmother & I always fed the wild animals that came around. The one thing that dared to come into our yard one night but never returned - a skunk. vaccinefreehealth blogspot com The risk far outweighs any benefit as the risk will vary from child to child. facebook.com/graphixyourway |

Pinkish. No texture, smooth like baloney but thin. Fetus meat? That's disgusting. |

Even an animal knows not to eat that processed crap they try and pass off as food. Sandwiches? What, did you use Wonder white bread, too? An animals sense of smell and their instincts allow them to know poison when they see it. Unfortunatly, humans, who are able to read labels, still find themselves buying and ingesting crap. Shame on you also for thinking that it might make YOU sick to eat it, but it's okay for an animal to eat. Guess they showed you smarter than you they are. |

Frater EC User ID: 51053 United States 01/23/2008 01:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was once surrounded by about 20 racoons and fed them bread and life savers. A small one climbed up my my leg (I was sitting on a bench) and ate bread out of my hand. I was somewhat scared but they showed no signs of aggression and well, animals for some reason (even wild ones) don't seem to mind my presence. I've has squirells, deer, racoons and mice and birds follow me around (and once a bear!) (OK, I gave the bear a beer) and yeah its freaky but I know they are cool. I've had to have cats to keep the small animals out and my current little girl cat fiercly does her job or I'd have chipmunks curled up on my pillow. Of couse the cat is curled up on my pillow :) Anyway, never give another garbage to eat, it might bite you (not that life savers are good :) ). LVX, EC LVX! |

I made yeast rolls. I sliced the rolls and stuffed the turkey inside. They ate around the meat. And yes, shame on me. In the future, I will endeavor to provide a more nourishing and palatable selection of culinary delights to the local scavengers, lest they become offended by my meager, peasant-like offerings. |

They SEEM friendly, but what happens when the food's gone? I'm just not sure if they see me as a seperate entity or an extension of the food. |

How about not feeding them at all? You are humanizing them. Raccoons are NOT cute lil' ole furry animals. Raccoons can carry rabies and other disease and are known to simply enter a house and start foraging into garbage cans. For the sake of children, let the animals fend for themselves, as they've been for eons. Kids don't need to be attacked by animals who approach them because they are no longer fearful of humans and actually look to them for food. |
