What Indegenous people really think of Indegenous People Day/ Columbus Day

Hi, I'm Kizh Gabrieleno, the los angeles basin Indian tribe.

1.Most Indians use the word Indian instead of indigenous because that's how the federal government acknowledges us. In our treaties and what not. People that are saying indigenous are pushing an agenda.

2. Columbus is a part of the east coast history. If it wasn't going to be Columbus it would have been Cortes or mission system. But by erasing it, you are committing genocide by removing the history and culture.

3. We are los angeles indians but los angeles won't even acknowledge us and go by a fake tribe. The tongva who term was invited by some white guy on 1910.

4. Democrats made the Indian reservation system that decimated the indigenous population. Whoops.
