Why are rap songs only used in parody situations?

I can’t recall ever seeing a rap song used in a romantic scene in a movie. Every time rap music is is used it’s because the scene, commercial, game whatever it is is not being serious.

When regular people sing rap lyrics, it’s generally to be funny or comical or over dramatic. Nobody sings rap music for pleasure.

Sorry. Should have stuck with Motown. That was damn good music that stood the test of time. You could take some pointers from Darius Rucker maybe. That guy knows how to make an infectious hook.

I personally think it's garbage, but to each their own.

That is literally saying potentially , poetry to rhythm is stupid.
All genres of music have the potential to be gawdaweful.
Rap just decided to land there .
But there are a few that are amazing poets . Just you probabaly have not and will not ever hear of them

Just the industry pushes out shit music.
In potential it is but a few steps removed from something Ken Nordene would do.
He called it word jazz .

Rap started dying in 1998 and was completely dead by 2003

Rap mainstream was created and pushed for a reason, and it's not good. Think of Rockefeller and hertz in music.

I transcribed many MTV rap songs for the chosen NYC professional music transcribing service that had that and many other network contracts (Showtime, HBO) and was daily shocked, daily educated.
