I had mine pulled, because I thought they looked like they had cavities. Dentist didn't inform me otherwise and went ahead and pulled them at my request. Closer inspection after they were pulled just showed some plaque buildup, no cavitation at all. I didn't need them pulled at all... They were not causing trouble otherwise. The Dentist should have informed me that they were healthy teeth. I would have opted to NOT have them removed. I would not have had them extracted had I know they were viable and intact without cavitation. Dentist seen $$ and did it knowing this. They should have informed me that my teeth were healthy, but they didn't. *So, I guess I had four other adult teeth removed, that were perfectly fine and not causing issue. Thanks Dentist.... |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 80899202 United States 10/16/2021 11:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I remember my dad had a baby tooth fall out in his 50's. A grown-up tooth took its place months later. I think it was the tooth next to the middle teeth on the top. Quoting: jussabitconfused Really! So I have some hope that I might regrow a baby tooth lost at nearly 50! The first one I lost was due to dental mistake. They severed the nerve and root. AND YES.....IT WAS AN OOPS MOMENT. The dentistry practitioner performing the cleaning even said oops...... I said what? He was cleaning my teeth and he nicked the gum-line at the point of contact of the baby tooth that fell apart a few years later. He said..... just got a bit of a dig there, sorry. |

So I have in order, canine, adult tooth, then baby tooth, on each side, top and bottom. They are in symmetric location. |

Usually you will not have adult teeth if you’ve kept baby teeth that long. I have 4 baby teeth into adulthood. One had to be removed. It just got too loose. Had to get an implant. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 80899202 United States 10/17/2021 12:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I still have one baby tooth. The adult tooth grew in sideways above it so the baby tooth fused to the tooth above. It cracked a year ago, my fault. So now I have a cap on it and I would give anything not to have had it capped!! It's still there underneath. Quoting: Lucyinthe Sky I have/had 4. now 3, with one now showing signs that it's about to fall out. The baby teeth I have/had are molars. I use them to chew food. Stuff like nuts, and apples and jerky. When I lose this next one, it will be missed, as it's a crunch tooth. One that I regularly use to mash my food with. I have noticed a slight gap in my front tooth-line from the one I already lost on the upper level. Not looking forward to more jaw line shifting with another loss on the lower. |

Feathery User ID: 78686355 10/17/2021 04:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Recently I had a run in with a dentist I started with. In about the 7th year, they suddenly insisted I needed thousands of dollars worth of work, and needed all four of my wisdom teeth pulled! They were completely incompetent, and fortunately they had only done one small cavity in the entire 7 years. I went about 5 years with no dentist then finally got all my work done by someone much better. Unfortunately that new Dentist and his entire office all took the jabs. Now I feel like I'm with stupid around them. Tomfoolery |
