Try ear candles.

1/2 hydrogen peroxide and 1/2 olive oil. Warm up in microwave. Don’t get hot. Get warm. Put some in your ear and sit ten minutes. Then wash out with a syringe of some sort.

Oh yes, happened to me, bad cold, stuffed head, sneezed and the world went upside down.

Inner ear fluid. I use a mixture of half alcohol 70% or higher to quarter part white distilled vinegar.I Put it on a cotton ball drop a few drops down the ear canal. Yes, that can happen. There are also viruses that give people vertigo for several weeks. I recall a flu or bad cold that went around 3-4 years ago and people were complaining about the residual dizziness for weeks.

I scuba dive alot. In the sport we take care of our of ears. but an ear infection must be taken serious and we get them.. When inflammation takes hold to the point of Barotrauma things need to be looked at closely by someone who knows how to treat it. If it hurts to chew food or major swelling it's getting serious.

Divers in remote places carry NSAID's like Diclofenac Sodium or at minimum Aspirin. for the inflammation. Then we go on anti-biotics right away as well, such as Amoxicillin, Ciprofloxacin, or anything someone has. Even Noroflaxicin is given which is used for food illnesses..

I am not a doctor but when none is around we wing it.

If you got swollen lymph gland,thats effecting balance,you got bigger problems than just ear.

Yep the infection can cause loss of balence!

Garlic and mullein drops and maybe ear candles for after infection sorted.

I definitely agree with the AC who says that sticking onion bits in your ears is not a good idea.

That’s the thing to do but I don’t know what’s in the weighted ear so I don’t know what to put in the light one— to balance the load— so I don’t fall down.

I just talked to the squirrels and they suggest you don't put any of those pecans you were foraging in your ears either. They were speaking out of experience.

My Mom always told us don't stick anything smaller then your elbow in your ear. So a whole onion is probably ok.
