Here is an interesting article about the potential effects of the moon on volcanoes. In the section "Dark Side Of The Moon" it briefly explains the potential effects on steam inside a volcano. I am betting that there is a massive amount of steam currently trapped in Cumbre Vieja.

La Palma Tvs feed is like wow. They aren't even showing the smoke from the vent to the side. The focus is on the huge black smoke billowing behind what we have been seeing.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that the coming full moon is going to see a considerable spike in the intensity of this eruption.

Wonder where they think they are going? Maybe making room for folks fleeing the East Coast /sarcasm

They should have started the evac about 4 days ago. If this continues to ramp up, expect to see a mini east coast scenario on La Palma.

Yup I'm in between you and the Atlantic here in South West Pennsylvania and it is an absolutely beautiful day and I can hear lawn mowers and tractors in the distance doing their pre Fall thing.

So I can confirm that nobody appears to be fleeing this area either!

I was watching it last night around 4am and a few of us were just seeing the new black plume over on the other thread!

The fact that they won't pan out and show what the hell is really going on the backside of that volcano is quite telling...IMO
