Every major holiday is a corporate holiday (yes, even christmas -jesus wasnt born on that day and never said anything about buying a bunch of stuff and eating junk food to celebrate. In fact Jesus is probably pissed off by christmas).

Christmas- consume more

Thanksgiving - consume more

Halloween - consume more

4th of july - consume more

Easter - consume more

The drug for these holidays is sugar mainly but also alcohol.

Even 4th of july bbq is typically loaded with sugar.

Many people die around the holidays.

It drives me nuts to see all the sugar kids eat. Not just at the holidays, but daily it is a treat/reward for good work and good behavior.

But the sugar is only part of the issue. All the prepackaged snack foods like chips and crackers are just as bad.

The entire diet for many of these kids is garbage.

I agree, the thing is, modern day sweets have only been around since the discovery of High Fructose Corn syrup. That's what makes modern candy so sweet and some candy chewy, it's 10 times sweeter than sugar. So a lot of candies didn't exist before that.

So the trick is to eat only candy made without corn syrup, but it will not taste the same. Some candy can't be made without corn syrups.

There is a brand of candy I used to love from Cali called Se...s. They eventually sold out and started using corn syrup, additives and artificial vanilla and it's never been the same. Also chocolate candy has to have high quality cocoa bean chocolate and real butter or it's not real chocolate.

I quit eating sugar and lost 20+ pounds in less than 3 months. Now my BMI is perfect.
