Dear WPTV, Firstly, I will sum up the contention/thesis of the letter you quote..from my perspective at least.. 1. They say that there is evidence of SARS2 in the hypothalamus. OK. 2. They say that infection could not really have occurred through olfactory bulb in pre-omicron era because the olfactory cells don't express ACE2 to 'latch on'. OK. 3. Omicron is better at attaching to ACE2, but cannot use TMPRSS2 - it relies on endosomal route to infect - which it is very good at! 4. B/c omicron is not able to use TMPRSS2, another route comes into play: the nervus terminalis, 5. Nervus terminalis does not express TMPRSS2- but it does have ACE2, AND provides a very direct route (more direct than olfactory bulb) from the nose to the brain. My Comments: Olfactory nerve cells express CD147 receptor as a low-grade route of infection. We know SARS2 can use CD147, but Hydroxychloroquine stops it! - JUST LIKE MALARIA uses CD147 ("Basigin" - look it up!) - and HCQ is a malaria drug for this reason (CD147) - so some of the brain infection (hypothalamus) could have come from olfactory, some from nervus terminalis, and some from vagus nerve..read on.. Gut-lung axis vagus nerve goes straight to the hypothlamus! - They don't consider the gut as the probable reservoir, like UncleDoom has told us. (Oral antibiotics - Azithromycin or Metranidazole, for the win!) We also know Omicron relies heavily on endocytosis - central to their theory about the nervus terminalis (thesis= uses ACE2 to latch-on and endocytosis to infect) - but AGAIN Hydroxychloroquine stops endocytosis! In short: they don't consider the vagus nerve. They don't consider HCQ or CD147 In terms of virus sequences - I have said before - I have almost given up looking because we will find huge amounts of variants from here on BUT.. The virus is being forced to play by nature's rules now:- the vax isn't really driving the evolutionary pressure any more because of the immune imprinting (the early vax doses have meant that the vast majority of people getting boosters are not expressing omicron-specific responses, so it won't apply evolutionary pressure to omicron) SO... I don't expect variants to be very much different to omicron for the forseeable future.. and, until I hear of a new "very-fast-spreading-and-killing-people-with-multi-organ-failure" variant I am in doze mode... PS - I have not had SARS-2 yet to my knowledge. I am being careful, avoiding public places, but I have been out in the city (outdoors) and I am quarantining mail for 7d strict, and then 2d once indoors. I am also not so afraid now that we have the keys to treatment - and I have a stock in hand ready to go. :-) Thanks S-man, very good point by point explanation. Only issues is Doctor worldwide don't prescribe HCQ for Covid (although I have a lot) and if there is no symptoms and I didn't know that I am infected with Covid, my family is screwed as we only test when we are sick. On the other hand, I am happy that you are still taking some precautions against Covid and this means I am still not alone. :-) I am still aiming to be zero Covid in 2 milestones before relaxing, 5 years followed by 10 year mark, by then, all research (e.g. Original Spike protein or Covid is airborne HIV) should be out already.
