But also very likely is that immune systems which saw "Omicron 1" will recognise BA.2, because the imprint of the N, M, E & S proteins will invoke the broad memory response. So, the competition will continue for now. Incidentally, you say Omi not engineered. Yet, there is substantial evidence in:- 1. The lack of 'silent mutations', 2. A point mutation targetting the Furin Cleavage Site, rendering it useless -not, on its own, improbable - but.. 3. Other mutations simultaneously making it more infectious overall. 4. Removal of most of the Q & N amino-acids simultaneously to render the prion-genicity of the spike essentially zero.
