Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78347691 You can get a surgery...they cut your foot open through the muscle and tendons to get to the bone and they can shave the bone off. But you need about a good year to let the cut up parts heal (tendons heal slowly). And then...if you run or walk with a flawed stride (that caused it in the first place)..the bone spur just comes back. Meanwhile...I'm in pain every day. I can't run or jog or jump without hurting it. I ride a bike. but whenever I get out of a car, it is stiff and I limp for a while. Some suggest using Apple-Cider Vinegar to change the alkalinity of your system...some suggest soaking your heal in it. I've not had much luck with that. happened back when I was jogger. sudden onset. open to opinions/ideas/etc. thanks. Bone spur may be slowly cutting your Achilles tendon. Mine was. I put it off and suffered for almost 2 years. This is about the only orthopedic surgery I would actually recommend. Got the surgery in January. Took out bone spur and beefed up the tendon with fibers from gastrocnemius muscle. All healed with minimal scarring in 7 months. Surgery was NOT painful. Using a stupid knee scooter for a month was kind of wretched, but once in a boot and weightbearing, not bad at all. Boot for 3 months. Physical therapy for 3 months. Have been back to walking several miles a day since May. Completely released by ortho guy in August. I'm 70. Your mileage may vary, of course, but that's my experience. More deplorable all the time. |

Might be the tendon underneath - plantar fascitis - that's what I have Quoting: Brit Perspective mine is at the back of the heel, not on the bottom of the foot. apparently scar tissue between the bone/tendon gets rubbed by the bone |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 78347691 10/26/2021 12:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Tore my Achilles and had surgery, was walking 7 weeks post op Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75748553 That was 3 months ago and it still hurts and I still limp a bit, but It gets better and better I rushed walking or I would lose my job if I didn’t return and had no choice a tear is much different than a bone spur. lookup 'pump hump' it's nasty business. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 79616684 10/26/2021 12:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I know this is weird and sounds crazy but it is supposedly a calcium deposit. So I used an old neck massager and pushed it back into place with the knobs. It's like the kind that is a square and then has 2 knobs to massage your neck. I would put my foot between it to push on the spur. Yes it hurt but now it's gone. I didn't do it but less than 5 times. I didn't cause tons of pain just discomfort. Maybe it was this maybe not. But it was my experience. |
