Re: HAS ANYONE READ THE Secret Teachings of All Ages by manly Hall
By repeating logical fallacies they do not become any less fallacious - I did not avoid a question which does not arise due to false premises.

And I do no discuss popular or fundamentalist misconceptions about what Hall or "the" gnostics supposedly say in their own terms (not the way you may use the words they use - for instance "Lucifer").

If you ever meet another educated person who is patient enough to tolerate your diatribes as long as I do you would do well to question your own naive assumption that there is an identical set of views behind any two people who seem similar due to their common use of some terms or signs. It would be rude to call such an assumption "stupid" but let's say it's under-complex or simplistic.

As regards Yeshua and his battle with the demons, I pointed out elsewhere:

I just wonder how anyone could be a candidate for or even want divine powers as long as his wisdom is so dim that he allows himself to be manipulated by anything. Perhaps the right domain of Divine Power is merely and exclusively the Divine , and you should have access to powers only to the degree that you are aligned with and bow to the Divine (which is not within or without but devoid of such division) since this appears to be the way to download its Wisdom aspect needed for its powers. Power in the hands of primates, G_d forbid !

Note 20:30 but no later than 21:30 -29:11

I've felt a bit of the power on occasion. Better know what you're getting into. No pink new age bookstore this.

"Thy will be done"
 Quoting: Logos666 724070

It is erroneous to assume that Jesus was always so sure about the nature of his own power. That probably wasn't fully settled until the resurrection !

Sorry if I have to disappoint you, but this stuff has nothing to do with role playing or switching, hierarchy or
any of such primitive concerns of people stuck in tribal consciousness who project these onto such an unspeakable event as the Life of Yeshua and then make a conceptual religion of it. Concern of "is my spiritual dick bigger than yours" cease roughly about ankle deep into the ocean at the depths of which there never was "mine and yours" to begin with and never will be. And this is precisely why the unprepared tends to go mad in the face of the unimaginable, namely that the separate, independent individual has never existed and finds it difficult to regain a balanced mind. It is not that He was the Christ and Hall was the Christ too, it is that primordially there has never been anyone else than the Christ to begin with - the only begotten son. And do I believe that Hall had the same realization of this as did Yeshua ? Oh no, I don't, but he was a fairly good mythologist and makes a lot of things plausible. He likely also did enter the ocean ankle deep ("seething energies are in his hands" makes it clear that Hall was still far away from fully realizing that holder and held are really quite reverse and that in full realization there can be no more "seething" or any coming and going).

So no, I do not think there have been many of the stature of Jesus, and neither Hall nor any of those theosophist were anywhere near. But if Hall had been he wouldn't be so interesting to read since he would then likely have been equally enigmatic and hard to understand as Jesus who wasn't a teacher (except to his immediate disciples, especially Mary of Magdala) as much as an initiator to the whole planet.

I suggest you drop trying to put me in drawers and instead read this before you get even close to an idea where I am coming from:

[link to www.amazon.com]
[link to www.amazon.com]
[link to www.amazon.com]

But don't just read an interview and then some reports. read the books from front to back and then come back.

Anything else you do here is just a desparate demonstration of your lack of understanding and mental imbalance.

I will go to sleep now. Best wishes.

I think Hall was more balanced and less dysfunctional-in his writings and the connections he speaks to-it does not mean I follow him or worship him
 Quoting: ShadowDancer

Yes, this is exactly my attitude towards the matter.

I avoid such group for a reason...they are generally not as they seem...has been my experience
 Quoting: ShadowDancer

Precisely. My rule of thumb is that any group involving more than 3 people is usually generating sufficient stupidity to warrant the term "psychologically violent".

I was wondering if there could have been an exception. But how naive of me.

Thanks, your input has been helpful, believe it or not.

Peace !

Any yes, the spiritual path of any kind, once it goes into depth, is dangerous by nature.

"Thy will be done"

and Grace seems to be the only ultimate compass through the madness.

'There is a book that will gone on sale soon that goes far beyond Blavatsky and Manly Hall, integrating ancient wisdom with modern science and revealing secrets of mystical and esoteric traditions for the first time. Some are saying that it is one of the most important books ever written because it provides irrefutable, mathematical evidence for the existence of God and decodes the sacred geometries of western and eastern religions, showing how they embody superstring theory, DNA structure and the human skeleton. The title is "The mathematical connection between religion and science" and the author is Stephen Phillips.' ( Anonymous Coward 846115)

[link to www.amazon.com]

Interesting.

Given the fact it isn't out yet, what is it that gives you the knowledge that is so far beyond Hall ?

Not that I deny this, I just wonder about how you can claim to know that.

Generally, later publications will tend to jettison many of the old superstitions, old assumptions and errors of old writing (which I why I cannot seem to stomach Blavatsky and Bailey for instance - their works contain just too much nonsense) and can include mnay of the new discoveries.

Form that POV, a new integration would necessarily be an advancement, but how can we estimate both the intellectual, moral and spiritual calibre of the author ? Regarding that I am pretty picky.

If Anonymous Coward 846115 was Phillips himself, it would explain the post.

Also while mentioning rare books, I have many rare books but I don't know if anyone would like to have them because there are so many and I need to put them in order but those ebooks I can assure you all the newest one is like 80s made. Masonic, buddhic, esoteric, etc. all mystic types. Just let me know. I would love to share my virtual library with a wise community like you guys.

It's just olderer or more ancient the stuff is, the precious they get and as you can guess in our era, the newer the information -especiallyyeahsurenow- , the harder it is the get the essence.

Thanks for the link, something I didn know bout before. cool2

Here is the first testament of them as I promised, there are the main categories, of what I have inside my external HDD;

[link to thepiratebay.org]

But they are not all I have, I have downloaded most of them, but I have also books on,
-Shadow philosophy,
-Mahatma letters and theosophy including Blavatsky writings(all),
-Phronesis(phro, not pyro)
-Ancient masonic texts,
-Knowledge of higher worlds, secret of light I-II,
-Audiotapes, EFT, NLP,
-Documenterial(right?) movies such as kymatica, big picture, labrynth of truth, raising eden,
-And if to come to the rare books, hmm I have the digital version of "Nine Unknown Men" in high scan and as word document,
-'Activating Divine Light',
-'Golden Book of Chemistry Experiments', probably originated from golden dawn, from 60s,
-Esoteric teachings from tibetians, 'Mentalphysics',
-Channel messages about consciousness, superconsciousness,
-Nikola tesla works, papers, missing works,
-'Terra Papers', 'Ra material', and also two of the Insiders,
-'Kaltem Gibson' Unleashing telekinetic ability(from my point of view he teaches it based on 'psi'(mental perception) ,
-Kuji-in, ninjutsu history,
-All atlantis rising magazines,
-All A. Crowley works,
-Valdamar Valerian(matrix I-V),
-Soulmates-soul twins, souls and
-"The Last Book" I am currently working on, a kind of book I'm plannig to release in future after I complete reading 'All of everything' and then comprehend information with the plot of the book and twist it in a subliminal way.

I am open to suggestions about categorizing them in a better way or new categories, it's one hell in my pc around 600 gb to orginize them properly but hmm it doesn't matter what I have but How I I am going to give them.yeahsure, The best way seems to be, is you request the material or the books to me, so If I have it, I will seed its torrent, If I don't have it on torrent , I will make one and then send it? Sounds like a good solution to me for now. But I will make a more organized list in a few days as I promised and send a better list, in the meanwhile during xmas, since I'm free I can keep organizing them,

Have a peaceful holiday to you all guys~

Secret Teachings of All Ages. About 20 years ago, I saw a hard-cover copy in an antiquarian book shop, a giant size (19"), beautiful cloth binding, gold lettering. The colour plates are phenomenal. Paid $135 for it way back when, it is selling for $1,300 US on the Internet. But I will not sell my copy, it is the kind of book to treasure. The edition I have was owned by one person before me, who took good care of it. The larger colour plates have protective vellum and there are fold-out sections of some of the larger illustrations......
Mine is the second edition, printing of 550 in the giant format. Beautiful thick paper too.

 Quoting: Anka

Thanks Anka,

on this subject let me remind of this lineage:

Here's another take on those demons:

"The demon of the abyss is, therefore, the reflection of the unenlightened individual approaching Da'at, while the angel of the abyss, which is the great angel of the apocalypse, is the reflection of the enlightened individual.
...
This is reflected in a secret teaching concerning the four great archangels attributed to Da'at: Raphael, Gabriel, Michael, and Uriel. According to this teaching, the four crowned princes of hell--Lucifer, Leviathan, Satan, and Beliel--are the same consciousness-force as the corresponding archangel...The difference between archangels and demons lies in their intention and the result that follows.
Teachings on the demon of the abyss and the angel of the abyss reflect that, at some point in hte process of self-realization, we must confront and transform our fears and the darkness that is in us."

[from this book: [link to www.amazon.com] ]

...instead of projecting it out as evangelicals tend to constantly do.

Check this out:

It isn't apparently the gnostic knowledge itself that does the damage, but the fact that it got perverted in the wrong hands.

A few things on this one:

1. as far as I can tell from a first glance, my copy contains all the pictures and text as this version, even though many pictures are way bigger and clearer in your version. That helps a lot !
2. This copy of yours likewise has no color illustrations and the ones shown in that video below are not in there either.
3. It also has no bibliography and index. So I am still looking for that.

Re: HAS ANYONE READ THE Secret Teachings of All Ages by manly Hall
BTW, here is a good indication for

how I manage to dislike Freemasonry as an organized body

Thread: An Overview of Freemasonry

while at the same time feeling so sympathetic about Manly P. Hall.

What he taught had nothing to do with being a part of Freemasonry, even though he later became a mason.

Note 21:00 - 21:55 :

Another glance at the usual supposed demonic nature of Hall's belief is founded in an utter lie on the side of the so called, self-adorned "Christians" who on account of such lies and false denunciations obviously cannot have any particular influence of the Holy Spirit in them which would allow them so deserve such an appellation.

An example:

Here's a quote which seems to have been proliferated and copied throughout the so called evangelical world:

-‘The Secret Teaching Of All Ages’ by Manly Palmer Hall

“I hereby promise the Great Spirit Lucifuge, Prince of Demons, that each year I will bring unto him a human soul to do with as as it may please him, and in return Lucifuge promises to bestow upon me the treasures of the earth and fulfil my every desire for the length of my natural life. If I fail to bring him each year the offering specified above, then my own soul shall be forfeit to him. Signed….. { Invocant signs pact with his own blood } ” page CIV.
 Quoting: [link to kittykit.wordpress.com]

Besides the continued appeal to stupidity

(sufficiently discussed further up in this thread here - the stupidity of confusing "lucifer" with "devil" or "demon" or anything evil based on translation mistakes)

what such "quotes" conveniently omit is the context:

-‘The Secret Teaching Of All Ages’ by Manly Palmer Hall, chapter "CEREMONIAL MAGIC AND SORCERY"

...These sorcerers then began the systematic destruction of all keys to the ancient wisdom, so that none might have access to the knowledge necessary to reach adeptship without first becoming one of their order. They mutilated the rituals of the Mysteries while professing to preserve them...

...Superstition universally prevailed and the black magicians completely dominated national affairs, with the result that humanity still suffers from the sophistries of the priestcrafts of Atlantis and Egypt...

...purely ceremonial magic. In the case of black magic, it is the magician and not the demon who must sign the pact. When the black magician binds an elemental to his service, a battle of wits ensues, which the demon eventually wins. With his own blood the magician signs the pact between himself and the demon

...
If the magician still refuses, realizing that the demon will make it impossible for him to fulfil his contract, other terms will be discussed, until at last a pact is agreed upon. It may read as follows: "I hereby promise the Great Spirit Lucifuge, Prince of Demons,[etc. as in the quotes of the evangelicals] Signed . . . . . . . . . . . . . " [Invocant {not MPH !} signs pact with his own blood.]
 Quoting: [link to sacred-texts.com]

Clearly, Manly P. Hall is reporting on the very ceremonial sourcery which he utterly rejects and laments as being responsible for a spiritual and cultural decline. It is not what he himself advocates.

Now if a paranoid "christian" uses this as an argument against Manly P. Hall, it is like accusing a historian who laments the Nazis' saying "Kill all Jews" as himself being anti-Jewish.

If anything, such a twist would suggest that an "christian evangelical" who is willing to go to such lengths to create desparate and stupid lies is him- or herself an expression of the very "confuser", the diabolos, the devil, "King of Demons", of which he or she thinks he or she is warning, that he or she him- or herself is a participant in the kind of sourcery that Hall criticizes.

__________

I am all with the uncomfort many share about Hall having been a Freemason. But not because of what he taught. I assume he was too naive and humanistic to assume that the higher degrees of Freemasonry might in practice actually go counter the very principles they seem to promote.

So at worst, Manly P. Hall may have been the naive victim of the Freemason's inclusion strategy, but for the very reason of his benevolent naivety in this regard, his teachings cannot have been negatively influenced by his status as a mason - or he would have known and the teachings would have dramatically changed after his becoming a member.

Re: HAS ANYONE READ THE Secret Teachings of All Ages by manly Hall
