According to initial reports, the Island Airways 1:30 p.m. flight on Saturday, November 13, resulted in the fatalities of the pilot and three other passengers. The passengers are reported to be Gaylord realtor Mike Perdue and new-to-the-island Kate Leese and Adam Kendall who were planning a vineyard in the area. All were lost in the crash, including two dogs, except Perdue's child, the lone survivor, who has been severely injured and life-flighted to McClaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.

A little girl is said to be the only survivor after a plane crash killed a pilot and three people on board.

The 11-year-old is said to be severely injured and is in hospital following the crash on on Beaver Island, Lake Michigan.

US Coast Guard officials confirmed the crash of a single-engine commuter plane.

The child and a male were airlifted to hospital with only the little girl surviving, reports The Petoskey News-Review.
