Belarus has also threatened to join Russia if war breaks out with Ukraine. Minsk on Monday announced it would hold joint military exercises with Russia on Belarus’ southern borders. It claimed they were provoked by Ukraine’s deployment of troops to the border area due to the growing migration crisis sparked by the Belarusian leader, Alexander Lukashenko.

In remarks on Tuesday, Lukashenko said he was ready for the country to host Russian nuclear missiles if western countries were to do similar.

“We are ready for this in Belarus,” he told an interviewer from Russian state television, adding that he believed the infrastructure like silos for holding nuclear weapons was in working order.

I will say this about 2am this morning something big flew in at MCAS. I stay on the river right behind them, vary loud jet noise for over 10 min if not longer,

Now I know they will strap down the f35s and burn the rest of the fuel out of the tank. But that takes only a few minutes...

West Germany joined the NATO despite not having renounced its territorial claims in Poland.

Of course though, no one ever offered West Germany help and military aid to go to war over those "occupied territories".

NATO is not supposed to let nations join that are involved in active conflicts.

Well, in addition to that Germany was divided, with a hostile puppet government ruling one third of it.

I have no idea how the Warsaw Pact handled territorial disputes lol. But it let the East German join too.

Well only one of those organizations is still troubling this world.


Warsaw Pact is just history.


NATO is the gift that keeps on giving.

Perhaps there was more diplomatic realism back then, that you had to live with the division and that it would not go away without risking total war.

We have forgotten many lessons learned from the Cold War and the way it ended.


A whole generation doesn't get why communism was such a failed system.

Seeing five military helicopters and a US B762 Pegasus over WA.


Two more military helicopters but no fighters over OR.


Of course they might not be broadcasting on ads-b.



In combat it would be shut off and I think it often is in fighters even in training/testing.

I've heard and watched them fly over before many times

With what's going on I'm more aware, but didn't go out to look.

They seemed lower than normal. I'll let you know when they fly back over.
