How is this violence different than BLM protests, which I didn’t support either? Not talking about the principles leading to the violence; I am extremely anti-this-vax (search my post history). Talking about the violence itself.

Innocent business owners who don’t enforce the passport will suffer. Homes will be destroyed. We have to go with peaceful noncompliance. It has worked many times in the past. Strikes and civil disobedience. Cannot repeat the errors of the left. They’ll just paint us as terrorists because they own the media. Did you learn nothing from Jan 6th? We have to be better than the leftist thugs.

Despite published -and heavily slanted- claims, passive resistance largely died the day Ghandi was gunned down in 1948 because it only works when you have huge masses of protesters involved as he did... and sometimes not even then!

You're probably too young to recall the sit-ins from the 60's that resulted in those bearded-and-beaded young rebels armed only with flowers being dragged away into police vans or the even more brutal fire hoses and German Shepherds George Wallace's National Guard used in the south a few years later. And a few years after that we had the National Guard all over again at Kent State... troops that were fully-exonerated in the resulting investigations. Oh, I remember those ugly days very well!

And although we still don't really know whatever happened to the Tiananmen Square "tank guy" you can just bet he didn't live long afterwards. In fact, during those 1989 Chinese peaceful protests it's estimated that the death toll was from the hundreds to the thousands, disproving there really is safety in numbers... unless you're heavily armed.

The quaint notion that you can just wave a crudely-lettered sign in the face of open tyranny and expect positive change is simply insane and about as effective as some blogger demanding the boycott of a product that causes them a skin rash.

While I'd never advocate that armed groups of militia should suicidally take to the streets and wantonly open fire on authorities, I also believe in the words of the Declaration of Independence that state emphatically it's not only our right, but also our DUTY to do so whenever our nation clearly becomes oppressive.

And until we restore honest, open elections to this world [an impossible dream in itself] our choices to enact lasting, positive change are dwindling every day.
