OP, Enjoying Thanksgiving dinner solo can be so much more relaxing than gathering with some friends or family members.
Do you know how many get really drunk, start fighting, arguing, putting each other down, making nasty remarks. generally ruining the holiday for all in attendance?

Why not invite your friend to have Thanksgiving dinner with you since he doesn't enjoy going to his ex girlfriend's house? Does he feel obligated to go?
