Buy a flower arrangement from the grocery store. Amazing what some beautiful flowers can do to add a bit of cheer.

G, your menu sounds good, except for the mashed potatoes which is my favorite comfort food.

Homemade is so worth the minor extra effort.

For one person, just a large baking potato will suffice.

Just peel the skin, chop into cubes and boil for about 15 minutes until fork soft/tender.

Mash and mix with melted butter, maybe a little warm milk, salt and pepper. Add sour cream, bacon bits, cheese, anything that appeals to you.

On Wednesday, I would make a cheesecake from scratch for myself.
Then on Thursday, I will
-Julienne some green beans, and make a mushroom gbean casserole.
-make some dinner rolls from those pull apart cardboard things
-Mike Evans mashed potatoes that I can microwave
-stuff and dress a smaller 5-7lbs Turkey and cook it in an electric roaster.

I bought a 12 dollar bottle of Hungarian white wine that I will drink.

I will watch football games alone.

I don't have much to give thanks for...but I believe in maintaining my dignity as I go to the grave.

Thanksgiving at 12:01am I will drive to work and work til 7am.
I will then drive home and try and get some food in me (probably left over tacos) and try and get some sleep only to wake up Thanksgiving afternoon and drive back into work at 6pm to work the rest of Thanksgiving Evening into Friday morning at 7am. Rinse and repeat Friday and Saturday.

Be thankful you're able to enjoy a peaceful day off and what sounds to be like a fine meal.

I'm envious.

Count yourself blessed, maybe your unable to get out much anymore but you should still realize this isn't your grandma's America anymore.

You have much to be thankful for. You have a roof over your head and plenty of food and clothing. You have peace. You really could get some friends but you choose not to. And that’s ok. Make sure you look nice also. Make a big effort. You are your own best friend really.
