Happy turkey day AR to you and the misses. Hope you are doing well.

How much snow do you have this year? Only about 8 to 10 inches here, a mild winter so far.

I accept in advance critics who think my taste is corny, but I loved the sit com Third Rock from the Sun. Space aliens here to study us assumed human bodies and tried to blend in. At Holloween, little humans came to the door and begged for treats so the woman fried a bunch of eggs and dropped them into their bags,or a can of beer.
So when Thanksgiving rolled around, the woman tried harder and even made a menu. She carefully put an unthawed tukey in the oven for an hour (with the giblet bag inside) and proudly cut raw slices off for her guests.

Im a vegetarian with an aversion to fowl and usually just help with clean up and try not to argue unless I have to...Im asking to eat alone in the kitchen not the dining this year as shedding vaccinated people could kill me, a non-vxxd person.

IIRC, you are, like me, a bit advanced in years; by no means should you even attend such a gathering, much less assist in any way! That cloud of prions will be permeating the place, and over all the dishes, as well.

Please reconsider attending. I would very much miss your posts here, should you fall ill.

I decided as well: too much exposure. I will tell vaxxd hubby I have a headache, he wont mind going alone, its his family, and Ive opted out before. I will take an hour long bubble bath, start a fire in the fireplace, put on a Hallmark move and throw cheese pizza in the oven. Maybe a wee glass of champagne....Happy Thanksgiving my dear GLPers.

You're getting more than exposure if your husband is not wearing a rubber.

Straight up vax filled turkey baster inside of you.

Does the old " I have a headache" work when he gets frisky?

I find your question rude, but will say this, Im 81 and he is 90, if hes game I dont care if he has the black plague, it will be a happy thanksgiving.

Re: Thanksgiving outtakes! Tashy relatives, drunk uncles, cooking disasters, travel nightmares, neighbor drama
One year I ate so much at Thanksgiving it sent me into premature labor, lol. What an embarrassing hospital trip that was! Baby was fine...

Another time we gave a turkey leg to our semi-feral cat named pancakes and the thing went full-on devil-cat and scared everybody in the house while it ran around dragging greasy turkey all over, growling and screeching.

And most memorable, we watched one of my dear friends back out of our driveway after dinner and a few drinks and smash right into my neighbors car, and then drive off...

Don't take it personally, I didn't know how old were.

The fact remains that you're getting a lot more exposure from him than gettin together once a year.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Since going no contact with my narcissist mother over 12 years ago, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, any and all gatherings have been fun.

No more self-centered screaming tantrums when she thought she was not getting enough attention, or she wanted to hater on someone for shits n grins, or dug for anything to start a big argument, then grinning smugly to herself after ruining everyone's day.

Today, she is alone, and deservedly so.

I once had a roommate that liked to make care packages then drive around the city handing them out to the needy during the holidays.

Being from Southern California I didn't realize that some people making six figure salaries took the bus in the DC burbs.

So I tried to give a care package to a guy at the bus stop and he was rather offended. He was wearing a suit, but I felt so bad that he had to take the bus I wanted to give him one. He told me to "Get lost", :(

LOL, we have one of those. Never flipped the tables, though.

I can't tell if it's real or not. The guy filming is so nonchalant. But the reactions of the rest of the family members seems pretty legit. If not real, it was very well done.

It says something about the human condition that we must enforce our beliefs by social custom. Refusing to sit with vaccinated people is just as bigoted and moronic as ostracizing the unvaccinated.

In fact, the moment you utter such an uninformed opinion, you pretty much nullify your own complaints about unvaccinated being persecuted. We certainly are, but the solution is to point out right and wrong, not simply return the persecution.

I don't care what time your date eats, what wine he/she wants with dinner, or what flavor pie they can or can not eat. You are a guest. Be a courteous one. Get your ass here on time and don't expect us to wait if you're late.

When I was going to college I went with my roommate to her father's girlfriend for dinner. He was wasted by the time we arrived. We were watching a game and just like nothing he picked up the clam dip on the coffee table in front of him and barfed in it. It was the grossest thing ever. His gf acted like nothing, grabbed the bowl took it to the kitchen, and cleaned it out. Everyone just carried on.

At least Im not an Anon COWARD...and I studied and had a long career in both law and medicine...I have an MD.Son in law, an MD daughter, an Rn sister, and 3 RN Neices. I am totally informed and just from the posts on GLP, uber informed. My personal physician is well informed on shedding and doesnt want me sitting too long or close to a vaxxd person not out of ostracizing them but to protect me as I am suffering from great risk as I am immune-compromised, have heart failure, systemic Lupus, asthma, HighBP, bradycardia, and several other problems. I am a very tolerant Ojibwe pipe carrier and teacher and NO WHErE in my posts do I say I am persecuted as regular posters all know. I was not complaining. And if the real science is right and the medical findings, both are proving those poor victems forced into being vxxd are in alot trouble healthwise down the road.
So Im just following my Drs orders. I have a sister with Lupus and a clotting problem who will sit with me, she is 85 and HER informed MD wanted her to stay home.Your self-rightgeous, uninformed jump to conclusion attitude is forgiven.

The worst is when a broke loser relative claims they are retired with out a penny and don’t worry the money they save from clipping coupons for things you buy will be their new income. All the while capable. With 10 fake Deadend careers preceding the announcement just because they were too entitled to just work and save.

Kinda like our uncle is a drug addict and is totally capable to work but claims disability. All the while mentally handicap people hold down a job!!
 Quoting: Overdue

I've been fortunate not to have any relatives like that. Some of mine work their asses off for virtually nothing, but they all work. I work with at-risk kids, though, and that describes their parents perfectly. I will never understand how some people who can work are able to get disability and others who are very ill or clearly disabled can't. Not a fair system, that's for sure.
