Re: CDC: Don’t Wash Your Thanksgiving Turkey
With Thanksgiving almost here, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued tips on the safest way to prepare your turkey.

First of all, you should not wash or rinse your bird. That may seem counterintuitive, but washing the turkey can spread germs and bacteria all over your kitchen.
[link to www.webmd.com (secure)]

Do not wash or rinse raw turkey. Federal food safety advice has recommended against washing turkey or chicken since 2005, but some habits are hard to break. A 2020 survey* found that 78% of participants reported washing or rinsing turkey before cooking. Old recipes and family cooking traditions may tempt you to keep this practice going, but it can make you and your family sick. Poultry juices can spread in the kitchen and contaminate other foods, utensils, and countertops.

Save even more time, don't even take it out of the plastic, just poke a few holes in it and throw it in the microwave
 Quoting: Darkside Cookies

They have special turkey cookin bags that does just that. You only open it after the cookin is done and no raw turkey is ever touched.

It's a dead body that has been festering in a wrapper for a week or more. Maybe some families rinse the turkey off and then clean up the sink and surrounding area, like they aren't retarded like the CDC.

Does the CDC recommend that you wash your hands after you take a shit, or do you just put gloves on? Washing your hands at the sink might spread e-coli germs.
How about washing the lettuce that the field workers got shit on when they wiped their ass with it?

I'm pretty sure the CDC has outlived their usefulness.

Everyone should wash their turkeys with the sprayer on full blast and then deep fry them in the living room next to the curtains. Make sure to use a Colman stove and a standard sizes pot filled to the brim with the oil heated to 400 degrees.

Don't worry your animals and children can play near it... Let your dog hump the pot for extra flavor.

The CDC was never impressive, but they've hit bottom with this "dire" warning. Their level of stupidity is a much bigger concern. A warning label should accompany their ridiculous statements.

They make this stuff called bleach, and most households have it. I bleach my sink after I wash my turkey or chicken. Amazing, I know.

and your closing statement - YES they have outlived their usefulness. They need to be disbanded.

A paper sack filled with three-day-old shit has more scientific value than the entire CDC staff.

They are all as worthless and dishonest as they are dangerous, and have more in common with Satan than they do with scientific stalwarts like Edward Jenner, Louis Pasteur, and Ronald Ross.
