If they stay within their community and do not venture out and no visitors are allowed in their community then I dont see that as herd immunity. I just see it as they are not exposed to it at all.

I interact with the Amish on a monthly basis for various reasons.

They do interact with society in many ways. They have Dollar Generals etc that they ride in their horses and buggies up to for one example.

They also build houses for non Amish people. So they are not totally sequestered. On the other hand I have never heard one of them say that anyone was sick from Covid.

They all work very very hard.

I have long said it was like having a psychopath in your living room.

They let Covid make its way through their community. Some got sick, some died. Then they got herd immunity and moved on with life.

Let it be an example for us all. Funny, we used to do the same thing with Corona viruses.

The Amish just did what they have always done with any virus: treat people who are sick and let the virus run its course. Funny, the rest of us used to do the same.

The Amish are not completely segregated or isolated. They come in wagons and sometimes even buses (yes, they do that sometimes) to the city. They trade with local businesses. A bus load of the women come once a month to the Peddler's Mall near me to bring more goods that they sell there (foods, candles, homemade crafts) and stock up on stacks of paperback romance novels. Most of them wear solid black Nike's. The men travel by bus to the big Bass Pro Shop across the river. They also have shops and sell furniture and Amish built houses they can move to or build on your site.

Point is they didn't have television to program them into panicking- so they didn't panic. They treat covid like any other virus.
