Anonymous Coward User ID: 79875745 United States 11/27/2021 06:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | affordable cheap rent? good luck with that one. since everyone is moving here, rents are skyrocketing. maybe if you live out in the middle of nowhere? but you won't find any "good music scene" out there. as long as you don't mind being completely bored out there in the middle of nowhere, you might find decent rent. and don't forget how HOT it gets. seriously, it's over 90 degrees almost every single day for about 5-6 months with over 90 percent humidity. so it ain't like you're gonna be out "gardening" unless you're Really hearty and in very good physical condition, or otherwise know how to deal with that intense heat. the closer to the beach you get, the higher the rents go. obviously-never-updated 2br apts are $1800 if you're lucky enough to find that rent. And I'm talking northeastern florida, not down near miami or lauderdale. don't get me wrong, I love the beaches here! and our Governor rocks. but landlords are ruthless and treat you like you are scum of the earth because you want to rent instead of buy. Good Music Scene? Well, Good Luck, OP. Let ME know if you find any of that in Florida, because I've been looking for the same for years and have still not found it. and if you don't already know the songs "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Freebird" you should start learning them now if you want to play some gigs. lol.... peace |

Quoting: GuitarGuy Looking for 1) Affordable/Cheap rent 2) Few Joggers 3) Good Music Scene GG St Augustine. Heavy artist musicians community, half hour drive to most gigs and Jacksonville. Visit places first before you move there. Never go there hostel |

Biggest mistake I ever made Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78780067 The good part is that I'm about to fix that mistake and move to Vegas I'm in Vegas right now and it's meh. It was my stepping stone out of california but I wouldn't make it home here. And it's too blue (dem) and cold in the winter GG |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 79759660 United States 11/27/2021 08:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I live in Florida and NO it is not cheaper rent than California. I pay the more here than what I paid in Sacramento a few years ago when I lived there. It used to be cheap, before everybody came here. Jobs pay a lot less too. |

I am phobic to winter tho Quoting: GuitarGuy The no jobs thing is accurate. Make sure you have something lined up before you get here. If you require employment, that is. I don't need a job, as long as things are cheap enough, but I am musician and would like to play out occassionally but it's not a requirement. I want rent on 1bdrm or studio to be <$1200 GG |

Go to timestamp 37:40 if you want to know the exact date the micro nova is due per his studies. I love people and care about what happens to them! If you always do what you always did you will always get what you always got. Let us Lord face piles of trials with smiles, that riles them to believe that we deceived the web that they weaved. |

Renting a house is a little cheaper but good luck finding one. Last Edited by Eyeball Replacement on 11/27/2021 09:18 PM In the eye of the storm ... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77876844 United States 11/27/2021 09:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | made the move last year. look into St. Augustine all the way down to Daytona. Pretty affordable part of FL and between Jacksonville, St. A and Daytona, you can find some good live music. Quoting: headglue Your joking right? St Augustine is sky high. If you don't mind Georgia you can get an affordable house near the coast just steps away from Florida. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77876844 United States 11/27/2021 09:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here in Jax a decent home in a community will cost about 300k if you build it. If you want a bit of land it will cost you around 385k for a 15 year old home and the home will need a new roof and AC likely in the next 5 years. If you don't mind north central Florida, Ocala, Palatka, and up to the state line you can still find a decent home on an acre for under 300k but it very rural. Stay away from Gainesville! Taxes are very high. |
