I would say because it is as if the Bible was being followed like a recipe by current events.

Why is there no proof of God? Actually, everything is proof of God, but if you mean, why is there no undeniable scientific proof of God, then that in itself gives the answer. If you don't know, then you are arguing from a point of ignorance.

When we look at subjects like history, forensics or philosophy we cannot run experiments or take scientific measurements to determine a conclusion. Instead we have to evaluate evidence and deduce a conclusion reached on the basis of evidence and reasoning. Which is why the question does God exist is not a scientific one.

Um, each life is a journey. Mine has brought me to a point of faith and belief. One could say God has been proved to me. Why isn't it ok for each person's own experience to mold their beliefs?

My beliefs were not engrained in to me by any person. They were gained by hours of study, self reflection, and experience.

I didn't say anyone was stupid if they don't believe in God, they just haven't been convinced and that's......ok.

Me, I'm convinced after 52 years of life experience.

The Bible is a story about resisting tyranny. Let me explain.

The story begins with Abraham, who rebelled against the corrupt Babylonian state religion, which was designed to control people through violence and enslave them.

The people were required by law to worship idols that only the priests were allowed to make. If a commoner made a counterfeit idol, it was the death penalty for him. So these little carved figurines were sold by the state for exorbitant amounts.

Abraham's father was the richest man in Babylon because he manufactured the idols, and had a special license to do so. Abraham destroyed all the idols one day, save for one, in the outstretched arms of which he places an axe.

When his father gets home, Abraham cunningly denies having done it, and says the idol holding the axe killed the others. Well, his father and the king were of course fully aware that the idols possessed no power, so they were in quite the predicament. To punish Abraham would be to admit that the idols didn't have the powers they claimed.

To make a long story short, Abraham was expelled from Babylon, and that's the foundation of the Bible and Judeochristianity. It's a rebellion against the corrupt, tyrannical pagan system.

And that's why the establishment hates it, and is always either trying to stamp it out or coopt and paganize it. That same pagan authority that existed in Babylon in Abraham's day still exists today, and Judeochristian religion is still opposing it.
