I agree,

I had a close friend who wanted me to experience mushrooms to induce Zen states. I remembered mushrooms in my youth but stopped doing mixed drugs (plus alcohol) simply because it was recreational and destructive, to say teh least. So I wasnt interested in powerful "drugs" like mushrooms because I had mixed them before and the "trip" eventually, later in life, became disturbing and uncomfortable. But my friend eventually convinced me to do mushrooms "his way" -- fasting, detoxifcation, etc... then what I expereinced was like nothing I had experienced before,,,

But then I talked to a Zen master and he told me I could induce the same state through disciplined meditation, staring at a candle light. Interesting...

I am not that disciplined yet, so when I wish to induce these states I go back to mushrooms.

What is your opinion on mushrooms as a catalyst as I have descrbed?
