What are the 5 values of aloha?
These core values are aloha (to have compassion and empathy); 'imi na'auao (to seek wisdom); mālama (to care for and protect); 'ike pono (to know and do what is right); kuleana (to take responsibility); ho'omau (to preserve and perpetuate); and ha'aha'a (to be humble).
Aloha Spirit in the mountain regions of HI involve some sharing of resources and skills while keeping closed off from governmental interference. CA pot growers will understand.
Quoting: NotStarvingActress Those virtues are fine. Although I have gotten more and more careful about taking responsibility as I've gotten older. I may act though even if I'm not responsible to do so. Maybe I'm making a purely western distinction. So keeping out government agents with guns falls into which of those peaceful idyllic sounding virtues? Or is the Aloha spirit "do what works" when necessary?
