Not kids today, no, not suburban kids of any color. Not kids that havent demonstrate unusual maturity of any sort.

Often both parents are disordered; typically, it's the borderline-narcissistic couple where there is a co-dependence of pathology and equally shared fantasy. Like addicts, they reinforce and enable each other. Then, they pass the genes and the modeling behavior and the impact of both parents not being able to meet the emotional and developmental needs of the child/children including brain developmental years (how the brain becomes wired based on environment). Genetics + Epigenetics (environment)

This type of couple is so prevalent in society, clinicians are publicly raising the red flags and publishing books on the issue.

Based on the info from the DA presser, both parents have Cluster B behavioral traits and reinforce each other, and but for their very specific actions and inactions about that weapon and their child, this tragedy wouldn't have happened ("Merry Christmas, son", firearm not being locked and "please don't do it" text without active intervention, and "you shouldn't have gotten caught" [paraphrasing] as points I remember).

This is in addition to two people having a child who seemingly should have never been parents, which most likely contributed not only to his mental state but their negligence, at best, or their inability or refusal, at worst, to get the kid the help he needed, and we have many people murdered and harmed.

A little eerie but I wrote a short story along these lines in 2012 and people bashed it and thought I was just looking for attention. It was actually about 4 kids who were ridiculed throughout high school and their parent found out about the bullying and their plans to create a graduation massacre. Well, instead of notifying the authorities they decided to take part with their kids.

In Chicongo this happens 500-700 times a year, kid gets no jail time, personal recognizance bond, maybe a little fine, if you are the right dark race. Parents, if around, aren't even aware/involved.
